el Guincho @ Red Eyed Fly, SXSW 2008 (Chester Soria)

I knew El Guincho would be at SXSW, but I forgot to look for him while I was there, and unfortunately I never ended up one of the many places he played. Luckily though, the 'Best New Music' recipient is playing two NYC shows while he's visiting our country from Barcelona.... and those are tonight and tomorrow...

Cut Copy was great on Saturday night. Their songs come off really well live, and there was a lot of energy. I had a lot of fun.

They sounded great, true. but the venue was completely oversold and it made for a miserable experience (i'm speaking for myself) with people pushing and shoving and trying to squeeze in where there was no room. it's hard to enjoy a show when you're dealing with that.

^I wouldn't say it was oversold, but a good deal of the crowd were lame.
