DOWNLOAD: Kaki King - Two O'Clock (MP3)
I've mentioned in the past that women with guitars make me weak. Foremost on that list is Kaki King, one of my favorite guitarists. Dreaming of Revenge finds her stellar playing featured alongside her surprisingly ever-impressive songwriting and vocals. If you're in Austin this week, catch her set right before Martha Wainwright at the official BrooklynVegan SXSW showcase.
Speaking of SXSW, this week's music conference means a lack of big name indie music releases, but there are still reasons to head to the record store. Autumn Fallin', the debut album by singer-songwriter Jaymay (I am a longtime fan) is out on Blue Note.
Other discs I can strongly recommend include Why? 's Alopecia, Transmissionary Six's Cosmonautical, Nick Jaina's Wool, Cassettes Won't Listen's Small-Time Machine, Del Tha Funkee Homosapien's Eleventh Hour, Farmers Market's Surfin USSR, and Hymns' Travel in Herds.
Two imports worth paying a bit more for are Sarah Slean's The Baroness and Young Knives' Superabundance
The only reissue of note is the remastered version of the Alkaline Trio's Goddamnit.
What new releases are you picking up? What can you recommend from this week's list?

I picked up the new Malcolm Middleton cd Sleight of Heart, it was pretty cheap at tower.com, especially if it's import only at this point.

i like Alopecia, but it's a little bit cheesy to be honest.
there was a song called 'new violence' on white williams last album so thats kind of a confusing name for a newer record. 'smoke' was a good album though.
i got 'antidotes' by foals from an unnamed source like a month ago and it's a really awesome album. it's so good. someone said it was better than 'mirrored' by battles which isn't true, but it's still really good. 'balloons' and 'mathletes' aren't on it though which is kind of a bummer but if you want those songs it shouldn't be hard to get them.

The latest album from Sebastien Tellier is now available on Itunes and as an import @ Virgin Union Square.
It is produced by GM de Homem Christo from Daft Punk.
It is a masterpiece of erotic-synth-pop.

Dang, we didn't make the cut. I thought we'd be one of the more "interesting" releases. Anyway --Justice of the Unicorns - "Angels with Uzis" drops today.
