Les Savy Fav releasing NYC New Years Eve live album, MP3

DOWNLOAD: Les Savy Fav - Sweat Descends (live) (MP3)

Les Savy Fav live

Mark this one down, people: April 29th, 2008. The day Brooklyn art-punks Les Savy Fav - probably the best showmen in indie rock - finally release a live album. After The Balls Drop is a fifteen-track document of the band's storied 3:00AM performance at Bowery Ballroom in New York City on January 1st, 2008. Loaded with old Fav standbys, and tracks from last year's raucous return-from-hiatus Let's Stay Friends, the digital-only release is a document of a band.....

If it's a digital only release of a show from January, why are they releasing this more than a month from now?

Posted by butternuts | March 19, 2008 1:38 PM

why won't this band just go away?

I was out of my mind on LSD at that show. It was awesome.

And I still have that very mask hanging on my bedroom wall.

i still have my mask too

if you don't like them don't read the post about them. you guys act like these bands who get attention raped your sister or something. if you don't like them don't read about them but you don't have to bring such a negative vibe to music. music is not a competition and there is no need for everyone to try to bring down bands.

WHOA i was on lsd too!!! perfecccct

People talk shit about bands that get attention because their band doesn't, and doesn't deserve it either.

I found my mask while cleaning my apartment last night. I also have one of the lyrics "cue cards" from the Love cover. Great show.

"DONT FORGET THAT THESE PRICKS SCABBED ON CONAN DURING THE WRITERS STRIKE. FUCK THEM."

Les Savy Fav went against a union? No wonder I like them!

If you want socialism, move to Cuba.

Haha @ mike...finally someone posting on a blog who is sane! great post!

Didn't they play "TNT" during that encore too? Christ, that show was amazing.

writers strike and unions poor usa all that was hype its hype hype hype machine come on.

Posted by dead | March 23, 2008 5:55 AM

As Les Savy Fav are not television writers, they can not be considered "scabs" for going on Conan's show during the strike.
Also of note, they gave possibly the best performance I've ever seen on one of those shows. An uncompromised, LSF performance on network TV ... I don't see how one could argue with that.
