according to ny mag, vampire weekend on snl was the official death knell to rock...or was it iggy pop 'covering' madonna? either way, i agree...

wow, this is like a hipster music dork battle royale!

i had the misfortune of seeing vampire weekend when they opened for animal collective. they were like a prep school phish cover band. absolutely painful.
