Peta offers Aretha Franklin $19k for her fur

Aretha Franklin in gross fur

Never one to shy away from controversy, PETA US has offered to pay Aretha Franklin's $19,000 home foreclosure tax bill... on the condition that she ditches the fur for good and donates her unwanted furs to PETA US like Mariah Carey and Kim Cattrall have done in the past. I think that's a pretty fair deal, don't you? [PETA Europe]

Considering furs can reach upwards of several thousand dollars, if she owns enough, she might just want to consider selling them.

"anon 3:28 really knows how to add to a discussion! what depth you've added to the topic!"

She/he did not add any more or less than the other comments in what you'd like to call "a discussion." However it was my sentiments exactly. If we ever do all that we can for the ethical treatment of human beings in the world, only then it might be worth moving on to animals.

Leonardo da Vinci wrote that if the world would increase it's compassion for animals there would be greater compassion for fellow humans.

In other words, those who treat animals with more compassion already treat their fellow man with an ethical mind.

"However it was my sentiments exactly."

If your sentiment was simply "Peta sucks" then your mind is clearly closed.

F Aretha. I hope she burns in a thousand hells.

I don't know why people would be pissed at PETA here.

This is pretty level-headed when it comes to their tactics. It's not offensive to her or anyone at all. It's obviously pushing their agenda, but in a pretty non-threatening way.

Oh, and Aretha used to be cool. She made some great music before the 80s came around. Shit was hot!

What she wears is her business! I hope she told PETA to f***-off and that she keeps her furs! PETA is a bullying, hateful cult who want to control how we live, and who often goes ballistic and insistent like ugly, petulent brats when they're ignored or refused. I'm sick of them pushing their poisoned dope cult of so-called "animal rights" on the public.I'm sick of these so-called "compassionate" fascists extorting and exploiting the clueless, the ignorant, and easilly beguiled while giving a "nod and a wink" to acts of violence and vandalism in the name of so-called "animal liberation". They have a right to their beliefs but they should be exposed in the media for what they really are and the very real danger that they pose to society if their goals were realized. I'm glad that the FBI is watching this terrorist group and others like them! PETA and similar "animal rights" cults can go to Hell!
