In case you were wondering (and missed it), a few hours after I posted about that Zooey Deschanel (pictured above) show at Glasslands, I got an email saying it was cancelled. Oh well. It was good while it (barely) lasted.

Apr 21 - Hiro Ballroom New York, New York

"Oh well. It was good while it (barely) lasted."

That's what _she_ said.

I'd rather jump her sister's bones.

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2008 10:24 AM

zooey for 20.

that was extremely easy.

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2008 10:37 AM

typical nyu students worshipping at the throne of hype and celebrity...pathetic

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2008 10:48 AM

the national obviously. would anyone even care if she wasn't famous and hot?

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2008 11:06 AM

that record has a great beatles cover. the rest sort of sounds like a modern day twist on the carpenters... and by modern day twist i mean homage... by which i mean it sounds like the carpenters. whether this is good or bad is up to you.

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2008 11:11 AM

Would anyone care if the national were overly hyped on every fucking indie blog?

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2008 11:28 AM

"would anyone even care if she wasn't famous and hot?"

what's your point

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2008 11:36 AM

The SXSW show was not very good.

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2008 11:46 AM

Why is she sitting like that? Looks uncomfortable.

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2008 12:10 PM

"typical nyu students worshipping at the throne of hype and celebrity...pathetic"

Does anyone know where to buy tickets for the LA show?

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2008 1:57 PM

deschanel's stage presence is kind of weird and sullen. i can't put my finger on why, but i disliked him & her at both sxsw and the songs of the city thing at walt disney hall. a little smug for my tastes. lighten up, kids.

Posted by scotchtape | March 26, 2008 2:56 PM

only if it's asian night at hiro am I there.

Posted by Genius Baby | March 26, 2008 3:16 PM

Posted by Anonymous | March 28, 2008 12:04 PM

Posted by Anonymous | March 28, 2008 12:06 PM

Posted by Anonymous | March 28, 2008 12:11 PM

kudos to you dude! scalp away! take advantage of these morons who will pay the ridiculous $100 price without question to see some b-list celeb's pretentious overhyped hobby project!

Posted by Anonymous | March 28, 2008 12:34 PM

^^^

Actually if you listen to the album, it is quite good...Don't make statements like that.

Posted by Anonymous | March 28, 2008 12:36 PM

im a female and im not going cuz shes hot or whatever... people are haters.. Read the article in rolling stones... shes always wanted to do music before she got into acting.

The album is great...i wonder if tickets will be available at the door....maybe they will put some aside?

and u asshole who bought them to overcharge people is ridiculous. no one is gonna pay 100 bucks for a 20 dollar ticket. You dont deserve those tickets!

Posted by Anonymous | March 28, 2008 12:42 PM

it's one of the better received albums from this year. certainly one with the low expectations, yet manages to be pleasantly engaging.

movie stars have started awful bands for forever now, and rarely did anyone really flock to them. so could it be that people actually want to go to this show for the music?

Posted by Anonymous | March 28, 2008 12:43 PM

in the past, with even the big acts like ryan adams, beck, and cat power, hiro has always had some tickets at the door.

Posted by Anonymous | March 28, 2008 12:45 PM

Anon 12:42pm Yeah right, no one pays scalpers ridiculous amounts of money for small sold out in demand shows. Yeah that never happens. And did you hear that Al Gore is actually president.

Posted by Anonymous | March 28, 2008 12:46 PM

why would you peddle your scalped tickets on this website? makes no sense - your just asking for this backlash -

Posted by Anonymous | March 28, 2008 12:47 PM

"Yeah that never happens. And did you hear that Al Gore is actually president."

LOL...quoted for truth.

Posted by Anonymous | March 28, 2008 12:49 PM

that's pretty crazy. probably 90% indie boys swooning over zooey.

novelty act selling out hiro in 5 minutes... whew. even cat power doesn't sell out that place THAT quickly.

Posted by Anonymous | March 28, 2008 12:52 PM

novelty act? im not obsessed with them, but come on. m. ward is pretty freaking awesome, regardless of who is singing.

Posted by Anonymous | March 28, 2008 12:54 PM

Anyone want to talk about Terminal 5?

Posted by Anonymous | March 28, 2008 12:56 PM

what's there to talk about?

Posted by Anonymous | March 28, 2008 1:42 PM

On the She & Him website it looks like they are adding another date at Hiro Ballroom for April 22nd...Tickets go on-sale on April 2nd.

Posted by brian-nyc | March 31, 2008 3:44 AM

Posted by Anonymous | March 31, 2008 9:57 AM
