anyone know any of the friends other then his sister and mom?
Posted by Anonymous | March 19, 2008 11:30 AM
Probably the usual suspects: Joan As Policewoman, Teddy Thompson, etc.
Posted by Anonymous | March 19, 2008 11:42 AM
Yawn
Posted by Anonymous | March 19, 2008 11:45 AM
Precisely. Rufus needs to get new friends.
Posted by Anonymous | March 19, 2008 11:50 AM
This should be interesting - candle-lit and unamplified.
Posted by Anonymous | March 19, 2008 12:01 PM
Rufus should do this show in the nude
Posted by Anonymous | March 19, 2008 12:16 PM
rufus i will be your friend
Posted by Anonymous | March 19, 2008 12:32 PM
It's no suprise clueless people here are yawning at acts with no hipster appeal. Teddy Thompson's Bowery show was one of the very best of the 40+ shows I've seen there last year.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA
And you have the nerve to call anyone else clueless with a statement like that
Posted by Anonymous | March 19, 2008 12:35 PM
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA"
Always a sing of knowledge and maturity.

sean lennon again, duh...
Posted by anon | March 19, 2008 1:32 PM
if it is sean lennon that would be great. He was excellent at RCMH.

If am not a Rufus fan, but Angel Orensanz is beautiful.
Posted by Anonymous | March 19, 2008 2:07 PM
Does anyone know what time Rufus will be on stage?
Posted by Anonymous | March 19, 2008 2:11 PM
I would not mind a surprise or two, but Rufus, Teddy Thompson, and Sean Lennon would be a killer combination as it is. Sean is good, still Teddy and Rufus are always incredible.
Posted by Anonymous | March 19, 2008 2:20 PM
I didn't mean to bash Teddy, Joan, etc. It's just that, they're at EVERY Rufus show in NYC as is... and yet they're rumored to be the "friends" on the "Rufus & Friends" bill tonight. Just gets a little old is all. Not worth a special billing.

Well, I was there & I must say
Yawn

Yawn to all the yawner idiots. This was an intimate and unique event with Rufus and some of his actual friends. Albert Maysles, the greatest living documentary director, filmed it. You keep on sleeping.

The only idiot on here is you. And a fucking moron to boot. Rufus has played a number of intimate shows before. Nothing unique here jackass
And Maysles the greatest living documentary director huh? I don't think so. Werner Herzog, Errol Morris, Fredrick Wiseman, Ken Burns all stand out. Maysles has done some great stuff but greatest living. Nuh uh.
Posted by Anonymous | March 20, 2008 3:57 AM
One of the most beautiful venues in the city, which only hosts very small number of shows each year, only candle lights, completely unamplified. Nothing unique, right. That's why 81-year-old Maysles was there filming it I'm sure.

alan alda and wayne rodgers from M*A*S*H, his father's co stars

No it isnt unique you fuckhead. Omg candle lights, small place, unamplified. WOW WOW. Give me a fucking break. And for your info Mr Smart Guy, the Maysles film lots of diffeent events and many i am sure you do not know about. Thr fact that he was there filming is not unique.

Besides, Joan, Martha, and beth - I didn't catch the name of the the girl who led the gospel type #?? What is her name?
Posted by Anonymous | March 20, 2008 12:04 PM
anon @ 12:04
according to the Rufus message boards her name is Jenni Muldaur
Posted by Ian | March 20, 2008 12:32 PM
Jenny Muldaur. She's has often been a harmony singer in Rufus's band as well.
Posted by Anon | March 20, 2008 12:33 PM
Sorry- I'm a huge fan of rufus, was there, and the set was short, reasonably boring, and fairly lifeless. Great venue, but I was very impress. Seemed like Rufus just wanted to get home and watch top chef.
Posted by Anonymous | March 20, 2008 3:26 PM
Ken Burns? are you serious? the PBS Ken Burns? for fucks sakes, watch some better documentaries already. Ken Burns is an atrocity.

And you have made what? Right, now shut the fuck up
Posted by Anonymous | March 20, 2008 3:49 PM
"And you have made what?"
The same can be asked to you in response to your "yawn," "nothing special" comments.
