Like most things Lou Reed opens his mouth about, he starts off in the right direction initially but ultimately proves once again that he's stupid ignorant fuck.
Yes, mp3 is a shitty technology that compresses music all the natural dynamics out of music. But when pressed for details, Lou comes up with this meaningless gem:
"Reed did express some hope that "you hear they've got a newer version (of MP3) that sounds better, and you suddenly hear the other instruments that are on the song."
