A young US father has been found guilty of badly injuring his infant daughter by putting her in a microwave.

The verdict today means the jurors turned aside 20-year-old Joshua Mauldin's argument that he was insane.

Jurors will now consider evidence on how to sentence him.

He faces anywhere from probation to life in prison.

Mauldin claimed he was going through a psychotic episode when he put two-month-old Ana in a microwave for 10 to 20 seconds in May.

But prosecutors said Mauldin knowingly hurt his daughter because he was angry about being stuck in a loveless marriage.

Ana was badly burned and part of one ear had to be amputated. Officials say Ana is still receiving treatment but is doing well.

In case you're planning for the weekend, Ticketmaster just released some really good seats for the Ornette Coleman show at Town Hall on Friday. This will likely be one of the best shows of the year. If you've seen him before, you probably have tickets for this one as well. If you haven't, go see him while you can. You might not get many more opportunities.

The LK were good last night, though nobody was there. Well, very few. Rehab, btw, seems to be only the most superficial of changes. They were still using the Midway sandwich board last night. The kitchen, though, has been gutted and turned into a DJ booth.
