X - 2008 Tour Dates w/ Detroit Cobras, played SXSW
X @ SXSW SPIN party - March 14, 2008

X played the SPIN day party at Stubb's during SXSW. I stopped by to check them out, but wasn't feeling it, so I left after a few songs. Somehow I missed the fact that Perry Farrell introduced them, though I did notice Perry and his girlfriend walking around the Playboy party the night before.

That's awesome they got the Detroit Cobras to open for them. Sucks that it's at Irving.

"but wasn't feeling it"
Have you ever seen them before? They have always rocked (not always the case for their side projects). John Doe is still amazing after all these decades.

you can say it... they were and and are completely boring

"but wasn't feeling it."
You prefer wimpy, whiny, nutless indie rock, so this comment isn't too surprising.

X were one of the best performances I saw at SXSW. Their energy (particularly Doe's) put most of the younger bands I saw to shame. Go see 'em!

ANY whimpy, whiny nutless indie rock is STILL better than the old-folk runny shit X is purveying these days.

Nah Mid, X is better and has more energy then 85% of the nutless indie you and your friends listen too.

One thing's for sure--Cervenka now weighs the approximate amount of 4 nutless indie rockers.

Spoken like a true wimpy, whiny, nutless indie rock douchebag.

Unbelievable. X are one of the greatest bands ever and they can still kick up quite the shitstorm.
I am just shaking my head at some of you foolish little idiots
By the way what was that little jab about Perry and his GF. Umm Etty is his wife.

You speak the truth. X are one of the all-time great bands. Exene has more balls than all the emo eunichs combined.

indie rock is for pussies!

Blah blah blah blah!! They were great WAAAAAAY BACK WHEN. Today, they're just soakin' up the "remember when" vibes from Anonymous Incorporated. They may have mattered in the 1980s, but they sure don't matter now--no matter how many anonymous posts you return. The nutless pussy whimpy whiny indie rockers of today are the kings and queens of 2008's prom, and you're just a dick-suckin' fool at pussy-lickin' school.

Actually, a bunch of us are sticking up for X, not just one person. And I'd rather be known as a dick-suckin' fool than a mindless asexual tool.
And there's no h in wimpy, you fucking moron.

At this particular prom, I don't think there would be much pussy licking or dick sucking. Just a bunch of nutless fuckbags who don't know anything about music prior to 2000. These eunichs would probably cry in fear if they heard Hungry Wolf or anything else by X.

Mid Fing,
You are such a fucking worthless stupid idiot it is unreal. What you do not realize my shithead friend is that these kings and queens of today worship this band.

Honestly, for all those dissing on X, who would you rather see live? I'm just curious because I don't understand the hate. Name any show in May you'd want to see over this one...not being a dick, I'm just trying to figure out what you consider will be "better" than seeing them.

Truth is, I love X, and I'm just fuckin' with you! They rock, man!!
I love rilin' up the high blood-pressure-inflicted....

Or possibly you are just a huge loser with nothing better to do with your life

Yeah, you're right. I mean, look at this--I'm STILL responding to you. Poor poor pitiful me!

just another old band playing out the string

Fantastic show last night. I had a show every night last week and this one flew by even though it was the longest of them all. Incredible energy and musicianship. Young or old, everybody in the crowd went wild. Good thing I don't select my music according to the age, weights, looks of the musicians. Some of you will be very bitter old men if you manage to survive with this mindset.
