He was a great man, with a great legacy. There's no reason to be sad about his death, if LSD has taught us anything it's that now that he's dead - he's all around us.

Way to go Albert. Cheers to living so long. I have enjoyed your discovery!

He didn't invent LSD. I did. How do you think I turned water into wine?

Thanks man! That time I ate an entire ten strip of paper when I was sixteen and came to in a field with no pants on was totally my fault.

Every other time was cool.

F that. I invented cocaine.

Roger Waters's pig said, "Come, my child. I've come to take you home. Feel our loving spirits surround you. Warm. Fluffy. Breathe. Breathe in the air. Don't be afraid to care.

Just kidding! You're dead. And I'm a balloon."

LSD really did help me. Its a shame that it has such a negative build associated with it. The balloon pig is also a sign....keep watching the skies.

ate it!

I'll have to spin Tomorrow's psych-classic "My White Bicycle" in his honor tonite.

Hofmann took a bike ride home shortly after consuming LSD for the first time.

Where are you, flying pig? You said you’d be here. I’m cold. I’m scared. I don’t even see your hoofprints in the sand.

Posted by Dr. Albert | April 30, 2008 11:29 AM

Do not fear, my child. Don’t you know I could never leave you? You cannot see my hoofprints because I am carrying you on my back as we fly away, off beyond the clouds, to your new home in the stars.

Syd will be there, and Arthur Lee, and all that is now, and all that is gone, and all that’s to come. And everything under the sun is in tune, when the sun is eclipsed by the moon.

102: testament to the fact that drugs don't always kill.

LSD isn't a drug - it's a medicine, and a sacrament, and a damn good time. ;-)

RE: video #2.. Yes, it most certainly is a bad idea to eat hotdogs while tripping on acid.

This is the end
Beautiful friend
This is the end
My only friend, the end

Of our elaborate plans, the end
Of everything that stands, the end
No safety or surprise, the end
Ill never look into your eyes...again

Can you picture what will be
So limitless and free
Desperately in need...of some...strangers hand
In a...desperate land

Hey, i remember the first acid trip, i was 15 and it had to be the most memorable experience i have ever had. And ever since then i've done it multiple times. I think that it is a truly unique drug and is definately my most favourite drug as it changes the way you perceive every thing around you, a constantly changing and alternate world. You are a truly an inspiring person to me. Happy trippin man:)

Dr Albert Hofmann would be a remarkable man even if he hadn't discovered the chemical compound that changed the course of the 20th century: LSD. Hofmann's chemical creations also include chemicals used every day in maternity and geriatric wards the world over.
