Wait - Jack Johnson playing a festival? Stop the presses!

Posted by Robert | April 1, 2008 4:31 PM

so, like, does all the sucking Johnson has been doing to play every festival in existence ever also grant him the ability to appear in multiple places at the same time?

or is he just that much of a whore?

Posted by musical crusader | April 1, 2008 4:31 PM

this line up is total garbage.

Posted by Anonymous | April 1, 2008 4:33 PM

well i guess its safe to say that the two festivals arent going after the same audience.

Posted by Anonymous | April 1, 2008 4:34 PM

ok april fools, i get it.

Posted by Anonymous | April 1, 2008 4:35 PM

Can I please get a restraining order against Jack Johnson?

Posted by Anonymous | April 1, 2008 4:35 PM

they're definitely not going after the same audience, but i'm curious to see how Jack Johnson is the center of this Vin Diagram

Posted by musical crusader | April 1, 2008 4:36 PM

this line up makes APW smell like roses, sunday excluded of course.

Posted by Anonymous | April 1, 2008 4:37 PM

What, no Spin Doctors?

Posted by James Snuka | April 1, 2008 4:39 PM

nice. it's gonna blow APW out of the water. but that's pretty easy as long as they have more than like 5 bands

Posted by jojo | April 1, 2008 4:48 PM

How is Jack Johnson above Nails on that image? I dont even know anyone who is a Jack Johnson fan.

Posted by J | April 1, 2008 4:49 PM

Posted by Anonymous | April 1, 2008 4:57 PM

Ummm aside from NIN (and i can see them when the tour comes here) I will gladly take 2 nights of Radiohead outdoors in a beautiful park over this doo doo any day.

Posted by Anonymous | April 1, 2008 5:25 PM

Can we all just come to the realization that lollapalooza is going to have the best lineup this year? stop waiting for anything less than lolla's stellar lineup, chi-city, I'M COMING HOME AGAIN!

Posted by genghis | April 1, 2008 9:46 PM

stub hub is actually a sponsor of this fest...not sure how a promoter could care less about their customers...

I think APW is going to be a much smaller festival in terms of capacity.

I'll be at APW.

Posted by Anonymous | April 2, 2008 12:22 AM

ugly kid joe. confirmed.

Posted by Anonymous | April 2, 2008 9:58 AM

Radiohead Friday night at APW.

Saturday/Sunday at Virgin.

Easy as pie. I guess Jack Johnson is playing on Saturday.

Posted by Anonymous | April 2, 2008 10:59 AM

dude are you crazy? you are getting 2 different shows with radiohead. it was reported they were rehearsing somewhere around 80 songs for this tour. if you think it's a smart move to skip one of these shows, well, I think you are making a big mistake.

jack johnson is the jimmy buffett of now.

Posted by Anonymous | April 2, 2008 1:48 PM

im going to APW and the sunday of this. this is my theory. it makes sense to have NIN close out the festival with either foo fighter or STP. i dont have to see jack johnson. i wont be that dissapointed if i miss kanye. they might add another headliner to make it three one day three another. any which way. i will be there sunday. im just hoping the line up isnt disappointing.

Posted by nick | April 3, 2008 8:24 PM

I'm going whatever day(s) Nails and STP play. I wish people would get over the fucking Foo Fighters.

Posted by Jay | April 4, 2008 11:46 AM

muse, everyone wants muse, give us muse

Posted by tom kable | April 6, 2008 10:14 PM

Jack Johnson & Kanye West are kinda random, but the return of STP & NIN will be great.

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 10:43 AM

gogol bordello!!!! GYPSY PUNK

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2008 12:43 PM

this is the headliners I personally want. there will probably be another because why have an uneven number?

saturday: jack johnson, Kanye West, close with foo fighters.

sunday: NIN, STP, close with muse.

possibly STP, Muse, close with NIN.
I cant see STP closing it out.

Posted by nick | April 10, 2008 11:13 PM

I went both days for free-99. Highlites included STP, Iggy and the Stooges, Dylan, Duffy and Lupe. Dave Grohl was drunk but still on point and called out his drummer whose real name is Oliver and not Taylor. All in all it was fun in the sun.
