Black Lips, Deerhunter & King Khan @ McCarren Pool?

Deerhunter with Black Lips

Pitchfork: Do you plan to interrupt recording at all this summer for any tours?

Cole Alexander: I don't want to tour so much. We're known as this touring band, and I'm kind of sick of that. I don't want to burn out by just being a live band, so I really want to block off the whole summer just to record. We'll do the occasional show here and there. I think we're doing a show at McCarren Park in New York with Deerhunter and King Khan and His Shrines, but, beside that, I want to focus on recording. I feel like, when we die, it's easier to live on through records than live shows.

Before that, The Black Lips are going on tour with the Raconteurs. (thx Frank!)

The BL are opening up for the Raconteurs on May 30, so I doubt Bowery Presents will allow them to play another NYC so soon. Maybe in August.

Deerhunter is back?!?!

King Khan is playing New Haven on August 1, so a late July/August date makes sense.

wow - what a fucking bill that would be.

Yeah summer is shaping up nicely. This will be a great show but personally id rather have King and BBQ instead of the Shrines. I just prefer that lineup. Mark Sultan is da man.

Awesome bill indeed. Let's hope that it is not free so it wont' be a hassle to get in.

I just saw this. Guess Mark is gonna do some solo stuff. Damn wish he was opening for Clinic at MHOW which I am going to instead of Bowery.

This would be so much better than Black Lips with the Raconteurs.

This better not be free. I don't want to wait in lines with a bunch of people that are not even fans, but just want to be there for the scene. Paid concerts eliminate the riff-raff.
