why oh why Terminal 5?!

Well if you did not think beforehand that Bowery Presents had gone off the deep end, here is the official notice.
Hah to put this band in Terminal Crap. Hilarious.
The great thing about it though is this show wont even come close to selling out.
Drive By Truckers did not sell out
Boredoms did not sell out.
So with any luck this string will continue and BP will lose lots of money and stop these shennanigans.

I was really comfortable at Drive by Truckers and the show was great. It even sounded great. So, PLEASE, don't buy tickets. I love watching shows when it's not so crowded.
I heard Boredoms was a great one too...
PLEASE stay home!
Posted by Anonymous | April 1, 2008 3:44 PM
Yes by all means please listen to the idiot Anon 3:44pm. Do not buy tickets to this place. This will rapidly speed up the downfall of this crap venue.

bjm are so hazy great. a bowery ballroom show (or two) would've made more sense, but i'll still go.

YAWNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN is it 1998?
Posted by Anonymous | April 2, 2008 4:00 PM
like you even heard of them in 1998. You're just another one of those post-Dig! bandwagoners.

"So with any luck this string will continue and BP will lose lots of money and stop these shennanigans.

why would you want someone to lose money because they book bands in big rooms? how would you feel if someone was like "i hope your company goes out of business and everyone loses money"...i hate to even ask what you do for a living, i bet its WAY MORE COOL than booking shows. do you like to eat and have a roof over your head? so do the staff at BP. i bet you live every day to the fullest and can't wait to get to work. sad part is you probably got the shit beat out of you every day of high school and you can't get your girlfriend to orgasm. why do people critique a job they don't/couldn't possibly hack? i'm sure you love your "indie-cred" but guess what, your heros like money as much as you do. fuck, these artists/heros don't know where they are getting booked half the time. i really hope you love your web-brovado, you clearly have issues bigger than your shitty music taste.
also, anyone who ever did anything involving selling tickets knows you don't have to sell out the room to make money. i'd try to explain how a artist contract works, but you'd probably figure it as rocket science. have fun seeing bands who don't matter past a few blog posts for the rest of your cubicle-dwelling life.

wow 10:01. you just simultanbeously owned up to being Bowery staff and a huge, arrognat asshole.
it's got to be great for your corporate PR to call your custonmers morons and queestion their sexual prowess. I sure hope you've negotiated points on the deal when your owners go for the big payout and sell the biz to Clear Channel / Live Nation next year.

I love the phrase "bands who don't matter".
Especially since the BJM is significant when it comes to American musical history and most of the bands I see slated for Terminal 5 are not. Most of the crap those Williamburgers listen to doesn't seem to matter much imho.
That said, it sounds like Terminal 5 blows and is not a fitting place for an NYC BJM show,.
Posted by Dobosh | July 21, 2008 2:51 PM
BJM is the best act out there right now and for those "yawwwwwning", you must have horrible ears for music cause these guys consistantly put out great records, and the live shows, though they can be messy(last fall ,brooklyn) are always entertaining and you get way more then your $'s worth
Posted by kevin | January 27, 2009 2:35 PM
Always entertaining? We must not have been around in 1998 if we think these guys suck? Significant to American musical history? Get your head out of your fucking ass. I saw these puds back in the 90s and they were friggin horrible.
Jesus, NYC is some sad shit these days if you get excited about this wanna-be, second-rate, two-chord, sitar-suckin' meltdown (and I'm actually a big fan of the minimal-chord approach if it's done well and with feeling, but not if it's done with nothing but boredom, arrogance, and lack of talent).
Guys - this is not R&R as the good lord intended it, and it does justice to neither Brian Jones nor Jim Jones. Either one would be more entertaining.
