man, thats such a lame album title. i don't know if the art is tottaly lame or not. lady liberty!

Leave it to Coldplay to have an album title in Spanish, with a picture of a woman hoisting a French flag. Awesome.

oh the irony of a band celebrating a revolution that would of likely of led to the band's own execution.

my spanish is a bit rusty but does that mean "live the life!" or more of the the like 'long live the life" type thing. i don't know. i'm not a coldplay fan but that's a pretty cool album cover imo.

turd of a cover, turd of a band.
Posted by Anonymous | April 28, 2008 10:18 AM
Roughly translated, I would infer "Long Live Life" from that phrase.

Just out curiosity, do bands use "The Bowery Presents" promoter instead of Live Nation because they feel it gives them some sort of "indie cred"?
Posted by Anonymous | April 28, 2008 1:15 PM
If I had my way, all NYC shows would be announced as "Terminal 5 presents.....!"

What a bunch of idiots Coldplay are. They cant get anything right. Usually special free shows to preview the new material are at small intimate places and not at the same arenas they will be playing on their tour. These fools have such big egos for doing this at MSG. Makes me hate them even more. I hope everyone who would actually pay to see them at MSG gets a ticket to this show and then does not pay to go to the regular show. Make them think twice in the future about being such morons.
Posted by Anonymous | April 28, 2008 2:31 PM
didn't they just release In Rainbows?
Posted by Anonymous | April 28, 2008 2:34 PM
a free show at MSG makes you hate them even more? get your shit straight

I'll try to get tickets, I liked their last couple albums but just the name and title of this one makes me a little disappointed before I hear it

This was supposed to happen at 7:15am this morning. So far, nothing. Their site barely works

anon 7:22, check out their myspace page.
Posted by Anonymous | April 29, 2008 8:00 AM
Can't check myspace during the day...can you post something here please?
Posted by Anonymous | April 29, 2008 8:24 AM
for some reason the coldplay site says free concert for London and free show for MSG. I wonder if they plan to do pantomime at MSG and not play music.
Posted by Anonymous | April 29, 2008 9:17 AM
Apparently they're also doing a freebie show in Barcelona, but not France. C'est dommage.

You can stream, but not download, "Violet Hill" from their MySpace page.

i get so pissed too when bands want to play free shows for a lot of people and don't do it in the indie cred way i consider right.
damn the mainstream. damn it all to hell.
Although, the thing doooooes feel a little post-In Rainbows-gotta-do-something-too.
But if I was going to be in town, I'd be trying to get in that concert.

The new song has a very Damon post-Blur dynamism (the way each portion of the song structure is distinct), and the guitar arrangements immediately made me think of their old Radiohead-aping accusations. Once the song goes on, though, that's not so prevalent. Definitely sounds like Genesis did the drumming, and Eno's production is unmistakable.
It's really nice to hear Coldplay play some kind of rock song.
Damn, I might be excited for a new Coldplay album.
Uh oh.

The mp3 says the album title is "Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends."
The e-mail they sent me with the download link contains an image I can't see -- a Web bug?
