I guess the venues weren't 'intimate' enough. Tickets to all three of Crowded House's upcoming shows at Irving Plaza have been reduced to "Buy one get one free". Get them while they last.

maybe that's because they suck? what a joke. 3 nights at Irving Plaza and they couldn't sell that out. Probably should have done 1 night at Piano's and they would have sold it out! maybe...

That's what the price should have been from the start. They filled Beacon twice last August--but there is no reason to go back at $60+ with fees, especially with their old fan base. Which judging from Mr. First, clearly ain't on BV. Neil Finn puts on a great show--melody genius. Could use a lyricist, however.

i kinda feel bad for these guys

haha...Crowded House at piano's would be quite the sight. They should just do Cake Shop.

genius

Crowded House was fucking huge back in the day, and probably made more money then um, 3/4 of the indie-kid bands that dipshits like michaelways, 10:17 admire...So what if they're doing buy 1 get one free? It's called track-record. Some have 'em, some don't.

Yep, hipsters might want to pause and reflect on how when they get into middle-age, their kids'll be mocking Arcade Fire, Vampire Weekend, Deerhunter etc etc when those bands are touring on the strength of their old catalogue.

go back to your looped bleeps and boops on your fucking macbook pros at your fucking loft parties, you fucking hipster tryhards.

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2008 4:39 PM

Special is over, at least for now, and opening and closing night are gone. Price point found.
Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2008 11:43 PM
Such anger. They give a performance worth $100. Be glad of the chance to see them so cheap.
Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2008 6:45 PM
Hey, times is tough all over - rent's too high, gas prices through the carburetor, and similarly, music options need to be scrutinized in lieu of ticket prices. And at $50 a pop, Crowded House ain't gonna give you the energy of a Hives show, yo. But you do get those melodies. Yum.

didn't something similar happen with dr. john's shows at the blender theater recently? i know he's not exactly hip, but he too is usually a good sell. sounds like something odd's afoot from the blender and fillmore folks (esp. since they're affiliated).
