from the inbox....

Dr John

I bought my tickets last month, for a grand total of $156.20 for two tickets in Row E. Earlier this week, they started selling tickets for both shows at $19 each, which the guy at Irving told me was simply because they hadn't sold enough tickets.

As if this wasn't bad enough (Why do I have to pay more? Because they couldnt sell enough tickets?) for those of us who are the real fans who paid upwards of 4 times more than those who didn't bother buying their tickets early, the geniuses over at ticketmaster are now selling the same seats for Saturday's shows for two different prices ($64 or $19). That's right: apparently you get to CHOOSE whether or not you want to pay a quarter of the price for your tickets.
the email is continued below...

What this means is that people who don't look closely will buy expensive tickets thinking they are in some way BETTER than the cheap tickets, when in fact they are not. Earlier today, when I searched for $19 tickets, they were actually better seats than the tickets I was being offered for $64. They seemed to have resolved that issue and are now offering the SAME seats for either $19 or $64. Sound normal? Not to me. I'm pissed. I'm obviously more than willing to pay the amount of money I paid, but then to have them slap me in the face with all this is just insulting. Maybe you can tell other people this is going on. - W
That does suck (unless you didn't buy tickets yet). Dr. John is actually playing three shows at the Blender Theater in NYC this weekend, and ($19) tickets are still on sale.

It's Bush's fault.

Wait til you get to the venue and get to deal with ushers that don't even know their own seating charts Last time I went there, my seat assignment was row A, seat 10 which is front row, dead center on the aisle. When I got there, they said seat ten was all the way by the wall. I asked to speak with the house manager and he told me the same thing. Idiots. That whole Blender situation is a sick joke

"that venue is horrible"

Oh give me a fucking break. Enough with the venue bitching, Jesus. We get it...if it's not called Bowery Ballroom, it sucks.

Blender does suck and that has nothing to do with Bowery. I think it has to do with the fact that no one at Live Nation NY knows what the hell they are doing. I heard they are all out-of-town suits trying to figure out the market...can you really get $64 for Dr. John anywhere?

I saw him at LaGuardia when he came in to NYC this monday night! I went to his show at the House of Blues in his native N'Orleans and it was really fun.

I just called Blender and they said tickets were $65.

Ticketmaster also doesn't have any tickets left.

--Yeah you rite--- enjoy the show!

Anyone got a 19 dollar ticket, please let me know
