Chelsea Clinton and Elton John

Experience is central to Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton's presidential bid, and Wednesday night she tapped one of pop music's most venerable rockers to help fill her campaign coffers with $2.5 million. Elton John, who has sold records and filled arenas for four decades, played a benefit concert for Clinton at Radio City Music Hall.

"I've always been a Hillary supporter," John, 61, said before launching into his 1970 breakthrough hits, "Your Song" and "Border Song." "There is no one more qualified to lead America."

The English singer, composer and pianist added: "I'm amazed by the misogynistic attitudes of some of the people in this country. And I say to hell with them .... I love you Hillary, I'll be there for you." [AP]

I'd rather take it deep from Elton John than vote for Hillary Clinton

Wow, Elton John seems like an intelligent person, he should really stop touring and selling albums in the country which is most responsible for his great wealth since we're so misogynistic. It's events like this and the rhetoric that comes out of them that turns people off to the political process here. It's assumed at this point that at a rally or event like this, that Americans' ability to vote based on issues will be demeaned and will be attributed to "racism, sexism, etc," when that represents a tiny fraction of those who dislike hillary. Maybe it could be her socialistic leanings or her ties to scandal or lack of policy achievements? Nah, I'm probably just a sexist.

I dislike Hillary because she's a disingenuous self-serving twat. The fact that she's a woman has nothing to do with it...

Posted by Jdubs | April 10, 2008 9:54 AM

I didn't vote for Hillary, but blah@9:50, you are an idiot.

Posted by edwyn the bear | April 10, 2008 9:59 AM

I better make some popcorn for this one

Posted by yo mama | April 10, 2008 10:06 AM

I voted for the Black dude over the chick but yeah 9:50 is an idiot but then again so are most of you who post on here.

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2008 10:07 AM

Seems pretty idiotic to call someone an idiot without even attempting to back up the accusation with even a shred of reasoning.

is he even an American citizen?

What the fuck does a "guy" from England have to do with U.S. Presidential politics???

Posted by English Pillowbiter | April 10, 2008 10:13 AM

He lives in Atlanta now..Maybe he is a citizen?

Anyone but Obama 2008

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2008 10:17 AM

The financial lubrication of ZOG's homosexual entertainment industrial complex has always greased the wheels of electoral politics in the USA. The weird part was how Bill, Hill and Chelsea were dressed in those boyscout outfits and singing three part harmonies. Politically savvy? Maybe not, but desperate times call for desperate measures.

Yes. Anyone. Even John "Teleprompter Reader" McCain.

2008: Don't trust anyone who wears a shirt with an embroidered cartoon image of himself on it.

Posted by Schlocket Man | April 10, 2008 10:21 AM

I'd rather vote for Elton than Clinton.

...better yet, why don't we vote in that CrAzY jacket with the cartoon on it? I think that would make a better president than either of them.

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2008 10:29 AM

can't be bothered with attributing the ignorance to specific posters but i will say this:

i detest hillary clinton because she is a ruthlessly ambitious, power-hungry phony with a disgusting sense of entitlement. NOTHING to do with being a woman. if maxine waters was running for president, she'd have my vote in a heartbeat.

hillary with 'socialist leanings?!?" ah, if only that were true. she and her husband have far more in common with nixon and bush than ANY left-leaning politicians. clinton sold out the soul of the 'democratic' party to court the reagan democrats to win the presidency. remember, he even flew home to arkkkansas to execute a mentally retarded man just to show he was tough on crime - no willie hortons for him!

and as far as 'british citizens' or any non-'americans' meddling in us politics, let me say this: when you have the fascist regieme we have, headed by evildoer-in-chief and satan as vice (and that's an insult to beelzebub himself)who have MEDDLED AND DESTROYED the world with their provocations and policy, then it is the RIGHT and RESPONSIBILITY of ALL people around the world to stand up, speak out, and do EVERYTHING in their power to stop the great satan from spreading its poison further.

peace OUT!

Elton and Hillary are made for each other. they both wear plus size granny panties and dress like pure shite.

Lighten up (10:32 am). Thankfully he can't run for another term.

Posted by English Pillowbiter | April 10, 2008 10:45 AM

Question to 10:32am - Can a man that wears a duck suit for a living be taken seriously???

Posted by English Pillowbiter | April 10, 2008 10:49 AM

sounds like a bunch of tax and spend liberals and activist judges legislating from the bench. go ahead: cut and run!

Posted by pee jay! | April 10, 2008 10:51 AM

you're right, pillow. but it's residual anger becuase i've already lost all respect for a cherished musical hero, elvis costello, for playing a fund-raiser for this ruthless woman already.

while i generally have much love and respect for elton john, he now comes across as a cranky bitch.

Reading some of the comments here, I can easily understand why we have been stuck with GW for 7 years...

oh elton supports her? now im for her then. doesnt he know the saying bros before hos?

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2008 11:51 AM

After reading some of these posts, it's apparent who this kind of rhetoric is targeted at. I'm looking at you 10:32, but you're probably busy standing on a street corner holding up a sign that reads "Bush is evil, no war for oil"

In a recent black & white Pennsylvania political ad, 3 year-old Hillary Rodham, arms extended, toddles toward the camera. Hillary's voice-over explains the Rodham family cottage, down by the lake, lacked indoor plumbing. It was hardship borne from the start. Yet, more telling events seem to fall by the wayside. Take Hillary's first real job, with, I might add, indoor plumbing. The upshot: Jerry Zeifman fired Hillary for unethical practices during the Watergate Investigation. Why was twenty-seven year old Hillary fired? “Because she was a liar,” Zeifman said in a recent interview. “She was an unethical, dishonest lawyer. She conspired to violate the Constitution, the rules of the House, the rules of the committee and the rules of confidentiality.”

Not only does Mr. Zeifman’s story go to character, it goes to a lifelong pattern of lying and obfuscation. And, it took Zeifman twelve years to get it aired. After Watergate, Zeifman could not recommend Hillary for any subsequent position of public or private trust, nor furnish her with a letter of recommendation. After that TKO, Hillary's employment record is a matter of strict patronage and cronyism. Although few suspected the lengths to which this woman would go; a leopard never changes her spots. Again, Hillary Clinton is a bold-faced liar, who will stop at nothing. Should anyone doubt Mr. Zeifman's veracity regarding the Clintons:

The Clintons corrupted the soul of the Democratic Party. -Henry Ruth, lead Watergate courtroom prosecutor.

Never liked Elton John too much but after this I'll like him even less.

It's time for Obama and Clinton to selflessly come together and urge their party to draft Al Gore!

I thought this was a supporters of HILLARY site. I love it though, when you trolls contribute! You only reinforce my (and others, I'm sure) commitment to supporting her for President.
