June 20th is a Friday, so it probably won't be a free show.

"thx ANON!"

No problem. Can you now un-ban my home computer? :)

BTW, they are also playing Lollapalooza, but are not allowed to announce the date yet.

Why is Osheaga on a Monday?

Posted by Frenchie | April 3, 2008 4:52 PM

wow they really moved up Osheaga this year. Last year it was the weekend AFTER Labor Day, over a month earlier. can't wait!

That Osheaga date can't be right, Aug 4th or Sept. 4th, they usually ape off Virgin Fest in Toronto this would seem to say they're sharing artist with Lolla.......

Posted by B | April 4, 2008 1:38 PM

they moved up to the first week end of August. (because of the school and the cold)

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2008 5:09 PM

School & Cold? I can only think of two reasons to do this, RADIOHEAD & RATM. With headliners like that they could have it any dates they want and it would still draw a crowd, otherwise this is boneheaded. It's always been a quality fest and despite some inclement weather in the past they had great line ups and an awesome overall experience. "School?" What about work, make more sense to wait until the city is full of students again rather than scheduling during everyones' (including the students) vacation and not have it on the weekend entirely. Anyway I guess we'll see what the real motivation is once the line up is announced. But I'd place my bet on this being artist availability driven and little more.

does anyone know when the mccarren park tickets going on sale? i know its a friday so it wont be free, but need sale info. thanks

Yes, Sunday and Monday is correct. Like Labor Day's Monday the first Monday in August is a Canadian holiday. The funny thing is that it's a civic holiday for most of the country, but ironically enough not for Quebec. I've written a wee post on all this at www.false45th.com.
