Jarvis Cocker - 2 NYC shows, Pitchfork Festival, new album

Jarvis Cocker has explained that he plans to release a new studio album in 2008, and has revealed the names of two tracks set for the record.Jarvis is visiting America again in July. He'll play the Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago on July 19th and then make his way down to NYC to play shows at Music Hall of Williamsburg and Terminal 5. Tickets for the NYC shows go on sale Friday. All dates below.....Speaking to NME.COM, the ex-Pulp singer said that he had two new songs written - 'Girls Like It Too' and 'The Usual' - and hoped to have enough material to record the follow-up to his 2006 solo debut 'Jarvis' soon.
"I've got vague ideas," he said of the forthcoming LP. "I'd like to do another [album] before the end of the year."
Cocker explained that 'Girls Like It Too' was, as its title suggests, about how females enjoy sex as well as men. "Which boys sometimes forget," said the singer.

yeah, Pulp does need to get back together, but Jarvis' solo album is really good.

Everyone should get tickets to the Terminal 5 show. It is cheaper and will be much better.

That Jarvis solo CD was hit or miss--some good songs, some awful ones. Take "Don't Let Him Waste Your Time" for example--that song is a total Phil Collins track. I mean that in a bad way.

So glad he is playing Terminal Five..for a minute there I was concerned he was gonna play the Bowery which would have totally sucked.

I'd pay $40 bones to see Pulp live, but not solo Jarvis.

"I'm gonna make you a mix tape. Do you like Phil Collins?"
"I have two ears and a heart, don't I?"

Yo, why you gotta rag on Phil Motherfucking Collins?!?

It's lose/lose when seeing Jarvis solo live - all of his own songs plus covers of anything except for Pulp.

FORTY BUCKS? wow...Jarvis is fun to see live when he talks between songs (which is a lot) but not when he's doing his solo songs, and it helps if you can sit down, since it's all slow and (admittedly often) dull. Who the heck is going to pay $40 to see him at Terminal 5?
I'll wait for the instore at Sound Fix, just so I can call and ask when the show starts.

You hipster douches trying to live like common people in your gentrified neighborhoods like Williamsburg need to get a fucking clue. The Jarvis Cocker solo album is one of the best of 06/07, and his live performances are always legendary.
