John Vanderslice and St Vincent

If you're just joining us..... it went comedy, Bell, Takka Takka, and last, but not even close to least...John Vanderslice & violin player. Annie Clark (aka St. Vincent) joined them for two unamplified songs on the floor in the crowd at the end (and then more DJ David Bruno with the perfectly timed, and JV-requested, dance party). Thanks to everyone who helped make our second Rock 'n' ROFL party a huge success. More pictures below.....

John also played Bowery Ballroom earlier in the night (March 31, 2008), and plays again at Bowery tonight with Stephen Malkmus (april 1), and so on....

I could not make it but i have a couple of questions on the evening

1) Was it sold out and was there a line down the block beforehand?

2) Did it kill?

3) Did Todd P wish he put this show on and will this show be considered better than the dummies who come on here tomorrow preaching on how tonite's Market Hotel show was the greatest thing ever?

4)Did anyone make it with St Vincent or at least feel her up on the dance floor?

5) Did it sound better than if it was held at Terminal 5?

Thanks

6) What time did Daft Punk go on?

Man, all you people are unattractive.

Some really funny guy actually quipped "What time does Daft Punk go on?" during Bell's set. Nobody said anything, but you know that everyone was laughing on the inside. And you know that really funny guy felt really good about himself b/c even though nobody laughed, he knew that some humor is just too smart for an obvious reaction. Ironically, Daft Punk did go on about 2am but I think that that guy had already left. Sucks.

Mr Vanderslice managed to make everyone in the room feel like the were in his own living room. This is the magic of a Vanderslice performance in a small venue. Hearing him this way is just special.

the free beer was cool too.

"Some really funny guy actually quipped "What time does Daft Punk go on?"

Even funnier was when Bell didn't totally get it and said that Takka Takka was on next.

I thought John mentioned missing his wife when he was chatting with fans on Sunday night.

BV forgot to mention the only full Vanderslice set of this week, which was at Mercury on Sunday night.

btw he also did a little acoustic dance party amidst the crowd at the end of his set on Sunday at mercury. very fun.

That violin player is Daniel Hart of the AMAZING band The Physics of Meaning. He's also one of the sweetest guys on the planet. Damn, why did I not go?!
