I'd rather see Mission of Burma than Mission of Burman.

"cue jealous haters of nyu"
This show has nothing to do with NYU.
Good day for an outdoor show. Does anybody know any of the openers? Anything good?
Posted by Anonymous | April 17, 2008 12:06 PM
how much money is it?
Posted by andrew | April 17, 2008 12:08 PM
Not mentions of the free Interpol and Regina Spektor shows this Saturday?
Posted by Anonymous | April 17, 2008 12:14 PM

really talented, nice guys
Posted by Jkov | April 17, 2008 12:17 PM
i wonder how many jews will be in attendance....
Posted by Anonymous | April 17, 2008 12:27 PM
Egads, this is a 3 minute walk from my apartment. Looks like the whole family is going!
Posted by nyctaper | April 17, 2008 12:29 PM
The show is free and open to everyone.
And though Solar 1 has done this before, NYU is a part of helping out this year.
That's why it says "New York University's first sustainable music festival..."

Interpol followed by Mission of Burma, it's going to be a great Saturday!
Posted by Anonymous | April 17, 2008 12:37 PM
Will there be enough time after Interpol to head over to CitySol? Honestly, I am more interested in seeing Deerhunter than Interpol.
Posted by Anonymous | April 17, 2008 12:45 PM
Wait, Mission of Burma, free on what is going to be a 75 degree day, that alone is amazing, but what is the Interpol show you all speak of and where and when is that?
Posted by Anonymous | April 17, 2008 12:47 PM
where is deerhunter playing on saturday?
Posted by Anonymous | April 17, 2008 12:48 PM
They are just DJing, but I still want to go.
Posted by Anonymous | April 17, 2008 12:51 PM
Yeah, Grizzly Bear, Interpol, Deerhunter and others are DJing this Saturday afternoon.
Posted by Anonymous | April 17, 2008 12:55 PM

key word being "DJing." mission of burma is far superior to a DJ set by any of those bands.
Posted by Anonymous | April 17, 2008 1:13 PM
i hope a more detailed schedule is released, i don't really want to go for 7 hours.
Posted by Anonymous | April 17, 2008 1:31 PM
This date conflicts with Culture Shock at SUNY Purchase. :(

Damn, I'm a vampire. Can someone tell me when Burma is playing so I don't have to be in the damn sun all day?
Posted by Anonymous | April 19, 2008 12:40 PM
yeah what time does Burma hit the stage?
Posted by Anonymous | April 19, 2008 1:48 PM
burma is playing 6ish.
Posted by brender | April 19, 2008 5:57 PM
this was so good - and no one was there to see it
Posted by Anonymous | April 20, 2008 3:02 PM
I got stuck out in Jersey on a never-ending family outing. Mission of Burma plays in my freaking backyard and I miss it. I'll never get over this!
Posted by nyctaper | April 20, 2008 3:11 PM
HA-HA!
Posted by Nelson Muntz | April 20, 2008 3:40 PM
@nyctaper: I missed this too because...irony of ironies...I had to go to Boston yesterday. Yes it stings...but think of all the great shows you've seen (and will see). This too will pass but believe me...I get it.

Mission of Burma were great yesterday (no shock). I was surprised how few people were in attendance. At one point they joked about being the fill-in (I think that's the term he used at least). Was there someone else originally scheduled to play?

"Was there someone else originally scheduled to play?"

"I had to go to Boston yesterday."
Oooh, did you go to Newbury Comics to see Amanda Palmer?
Posted by Amanda Palmer | April 20, 2008 7:38 PM
Yes, the original band was meant to be Grizzly Bear. However, they backed out, and apparantly ended up, in part, DJing at OM
