"hells yeah, guess who's showing up early for hot chip."

I give up. who?

Posted by Anonymous | April 8, 2008 6:00 PM

i'm guessing you need a ticket for the night's show to benefit from the happy hour?

Posted by Anonymous | April 8, 2008 6:01 PM

They should have happy hour prices during crappy opening bands, then maybe I would come early.

[seriously, Care Bears on Fire opening for the Dirtbombs?]

Perfect timing for tonight's show.

"i'm guessing you need a ticket for the night's show to benefit from the happy hour?"

Obviously. The only way to get into the building is with a ticket

at northsix, you didn't need a ticket to get into the happy hour. :(

yeah, just take tickets at the entrance to the club. have happy hour in the downstairs bar/lounge area. i would likely go for the happy hour, get drunk, and then buy a ticket for the night's show.

did "peelander zee" bowl the guitar through the middle of the crowd? if not you missed out...

you are CRAZY if you think N6 is a better venue. yeah it was great for what it was but MHOW is the best crafted and well thought out design for a venue NYC has seen in our day and age. confirmed. amazing sight lines and sounds anywhere you stand in the venue. courteous employees and ample space...

psyched about the cheap drink option. good call music hall of williamsburg!

Posted by Anonymous | April 9, 2008 10:59 AM

There was something about N6 though. It was a bit scruffier. And they sold tickets inside, so if your friends didn't want to see the show you wanted to see, they could still grab a drink there with you.

One of the best lineups I saw was at N6 five years back or so - Moldy Peaches, Calla and The Walkmen. Sigh.

this is great, but I feel like getting drunk before a Josh Ritter show would just kinda bum me out. Guess I'll find out in a few weeks.

Posted by Anonymous | April 9, 2008 11:10 AM

yeah I liked N6 better as well. This version is so sterile. No soul. Tell them put put some fliers up or posters.

happy hour is the precursor to dance night

This venue is soulless. So cold and without and ambience at all. The whole place just seems out of place in Williamsburg. Bowery is such a great venue in Manhattan, probably one of the best on the East Coast, but that style of place in Williamsburg just seems like a waste. N6 was awful in every possible way. This place however doesn't improve upon that or reflect the neighborhood at all.

it sounds like whoever posted the above works for a competing venue. the music hall is one of the best venues in the city if not the best club in the city. i have seen a lot of shows there and the sound is always great, it's never too crowded, the sightlines are excellent, the staff is friendly and the bars are well situated. not sure what else you could want in a venue that size.

^^^ your comment really seems like a waste.

N6 was where you went to see a great, unique show and have a great fucking night. mhow is where you go to see the band who are very good, but not great, and whos fans suck
