I will be seeing Nick Cave at WaMu and Tom Waits wherever he decides to play. He's got to play somewhere on the East Coast, right?

Right?

Posted by feedbacker | April 29, 2008 4:06 PM

@ Anon 4:01 pm. Have it and love it. Definitely pick it up.

Posted by Anonymous | April 29, 2008 4:07 PM

Psyched as shit about this. Second the 3 disk set, for "Rye Whisky" alone.

Posted by C | April 29, 2008 4:09 PM

Opium Tea!!!

Posted by Santagold | April 29, 2008 4:11 PM

The Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds 3CD box is definitely worth having especially if you know that the first born is dead.
It has live Radio 1 sessions including an absolutely mind-bending version of "O'Malley's Bar."
Many of the B sides are really good as are some of the acoustic versions of the songs.

Posted by Stagger Lee | April 29, 2008 4:12 PM

great, great news.

Posted by Anonymous | April 29, 2008 4:21 PM

fuck yea motherfuckers!

Posted by Anonymous | April 29, 2008 4:26 PM

This is great news.

As for Tom Waits, the last thing I read is that the previously rumored tour was denied by management:

http://eyeballkid.blogspot.com/2008/03/summer-tour.html

Posted by Anonymous | April 29, 2008 4:28 PM

yes. and all thee fresh and green little indie kids, please take note of the performance of he & said bad seeds. it's how a band is really supposed to operate, as in, play their instruments and perform and not just get on stage to look cool.

Posted by Anonymous | April 29, 2008 4:28 PM

L Mag 8 bands to watch vs Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, what do you reckon the score would be?

Posted by Anonymous | April 29, 2008 4:41 PM

Ditto that 4:28. The blogosphere has lowered the standards for quality bands these days for sure. Mr. Cave rocks it.

Posted by Anonymous | April 29, 2008 4:47 PM

"Sorry. Waits isn't playing NYC this round.

Posted by Anonymous | April 29, 2008 4:01 PM"

You are a laughable know nothing fool. He is playing NYC for sure this summer.

That was info on the Euro summer tour which is not happening. The North American summer tour is happening.

Stop with the misinfo you stupid shitheads.

Posted by Anonymous | April 29, 2008 4:48 PM

the bad seeds would have all those bands for a snack before they even took the stage. seriously. warren alone will kick all their asses. god help all them when the dirty three come back around on tour.

Posted by Anonymous | April 29, 2008 4:49 PM

my beard would hurt your beard harder than your beard.

Posted by Beard. | April 29, 2008 5:00 PM

But I thought Dan Deacon was the best "band" ever?

Posted by Anonymous | April 29, 2008 5:30 PM

bring on daft punk! ps...waits most certainly is NOT playing nyc this summer. sorry, dudette.

Posted by Santagold | April 29, 2008 5:32 PM

unfortunately the mustache is real. unfortuntely.

Posted by Anonymous | April 29, 2008 5:34 PM

Waits IS playing NY. Stay tuned.

Posted by Anonymous | April 29, 2008 5:44 PM

>Waits IS playing NY. Stay tuned.

um, no. sorry, reality check sweetheart, he's not. get over it. go watch him on youtube or get ready to hit the road 'cause if you live in nyc, you ain't seein' him this year.

Posted by Anonymous | April 29, 2008 5:51 PM

"unfortunately the mustache is real. unfortuntely."

Duh. It's Nice Cave fer cryin out loud. OF COURSE the fucking 'stache is real. Jezus. Haven't you people listened to his version of 'Stagger Lee'?! Seriously, do you really think that someone who reconfigured that traditional song to come out like that is going to wear a fake one?

Posted by Anonymous | April 29, 2008 5:53 PM

>>> hey all dale j here, just want to say hi... i'm pro stache, pro beard, pro pube, just let it flow... life is freedom, don't hurt fibers, hairs, all things have nerves to know & feel

Posted by Dadle J | April 29, 2008 6:02 PM

nice one 4:28. those shitty indie rock bands can learn a thing or two from cave

Posted by Anonymous | April 29, 2008 7:02 PM

so whats the verdict? is tom waits playing nyc or not? what about philly?

Posted by Anonymous | April 29, 2008 7:36 PM

"um, no. sorry, reality check sweetheart, he's not. get over it. go watch him on youtube or get ready to hit the road 'cause if you live in nyc, you ain't seein' him this year."

* are you a conrarian just for the sake of it? Or are you actually retarded? He is playing NYC on a date and place yet to be determined. I know that for a fact. I wish I had more specific info, but I don't yet. So fuck-off "sweetheart."

Posted by Anonymous | April 29, 2008 7:40 PM

if waits doesn't play nyc then it just lays the groundwork for a roadtrip...

Posted by javier buchananeversonia | April 29, 2008 7:45 PM

> I know that for a fact. I wish I had more specific info, but I don't yet.

do you know you just contradicted yourself? you know for a fact....and, uhhh, you don't have specific information yet. ok, sweets, whenever you got that there, um, information, as the kids call it these days, you let us all know.

Posted by waitsisnotcomingtonyc | April 29, 2008 10:57 PM

moustache = ironic??

Posted by Anonymous | April 30, 2008 12:10 AM

moustache=awesome?

yes.

Posted by Jeremy | April 30, 2008 12:56 AM

""moustache = ironic??""

well, that depends on the context. if you're walking down bedford ave, absolutely. if you're nick cave and/or the bad seeds, no fucking way.

Posted by Anonymous | April 30, 2008 9:28 AM

he looks like he should be on to catch a predator

Posted by Anonymous | April 30, 2008 10:38 AM

wait, what if Nick Cave was walking down Bedford? Would his moustache cause a rift in time/space continuum?

Posted by Anonymous | April 30, 2008 10:49 AM

LIKE I SAID... NICE FAKE MUSHSTASH NICKIE SIXX

Posted by Anonymous | April 30, 2008 10:54 AM

it all comes down to the fact that tom waits isn't playing nyc. whaaaaaah.

Posted by Anonymous | April 30, 2008 11:05 AM

if nick cave walked down Bedford
his mustache would serrate the fabric
that holds us all together

his mustache would brush against our thoughts
and give our thoughts mad & painful erections

his mustache would scrape away fear
and lacerate misunderstanding

his mustache would gather in the homeless
and rake away their filth

his mustache would make love to chicks in tights
and leave them confused and abandoned
& mumbling for more

his mustache, like a hair magnet,
would gather all other
staches and beards to it
and leave all beardos
naked and trembling

Posted by snailboy | April 30, 2008 11:08 AM

it would also molest teen boys on a mattress

Posted by Anonymous | April 30, 2008 11:14 AM

great poem! I pronounce you BV Poet Laureate. Can we please have a pome about the Ridgewood Temple thing?

Posted by Anonymous | April 30, 2008 11:16 AM

To: waitsisnotcomingtonyc,

You are a fucking moron. I know he is coming to NY, because I know people at Anti. I don't know the specifics, i.e. exact date(s) or venue, because Tom friggin Waits doesn't even know that yet. So relax "sweetie" and go post your idiotic notes somewhere else. You are a complete tool.

Posted by Anonymous | April 30, 2008 12:55 PM

yeah PHILLY DATE PLEASE!! like he'll see this..... but YEAH!!!!!
and i happen to like the moustache

Posted by Anonymous | April 30, 2008 7:26 PM

When you will come tours to Russia,...fuck!

Posted by Serge | May 24, 2008 12:39 PM

Nick Cave wrote the music for the production of Woyzeck that's at BAM this fall.

Posted by Anonymous | July 10, 2008 5:07 PM

I wonder now stupid the person that "knew" Tom Waits would be performing in NYC feels?

FWIW, girlfriend and I went to the TW in Atlanta on 5 July and it...was...freakin'...incredible

Posted by Anonymous | July 18, 2008 1:09 PM

Posted by Anonymous | October 4, 2008 3:01 PM

Nick showed the kids how to rock last night.

Posted by Anonymous | October 5, 2008 5:37 PM

i could have used a couple more songs. shortest nick cave show i have ever seen...but it did have a POWER

disappointed to not get more news from nowhere and one more ballad.

Posted by Anonymous | October 5, 2008 6:31 PM

Best concert I've ever been.

Posted by Anonymous | October 5, 2008 6:56 PM

Nick Cave was phenomenal on Saturday. But the crowd sucked big time. The megawatt energy Nick and the Seeds were putting out on stage fell on deaf ears. People were barely nodding their heads. People SAT ON THEIR ASSES through the entire concert. I am convinced Nick cut the set short because he didn't feel the Hard-on for Love from New York.

Posted by LotusEater | October 6, 2008 9:54 AM

Lotuseater -

Couldn't agree more, girlfriend and I were down on the floor right at the stage. We left without voices but we seemed to be the exceptions. There was no love in the house and I think that's why it was a short show. Nick Cave and the band were incredible but the crowd wasn't feeding them what they needed.

Sunday and Monday night in DC were freakin' unbelieveable (Sunday a little better than Monday)
