Yay NJ! 3 Radiohead shows!

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 10:46 AM

Whoa, skipping NYC completely. Those APW shows look better and better now if you love Radiohead.

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 10:48 AM

Nothing in DC? Wish the Philly(Camden) or Boston shows were on the weekend.

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 10:50 AM

I thought it was safe to assume that APW WERE indeed the NYC area shows. I don't think this is a big shocker.

But I'm STILL not going to APW. I've seen Radiohead enough. And the more I listen to In Rainbows, the more I dislike it. Zzzzz.....

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 10:50 AM

skipping nyc completely? how is playing a venue that's a mere 15 minutes from the the city considered skipping ny?

with that logic the giants are a nj team.

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 10:50 AM

the 'dc' show is happening in may.

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 10:52 AM

"skipping nyc completely? how is playing a venue that's a mere 15 minutes from the the city considered skipping ny?

with that logic the giants are a nj team."

NYC means MSG, United Palace etc. I don't pay a toll to see bands play in NYC. And yes the Giants are a NJ team. Fuck Them.

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 10:52 AM

No Toll going into Jersey...toll would be coming back to NYC...but if you take the path to the light rail which is very easy it will be cheap and no toll incured!

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 10:54 AM

out of curiosity, if they played staten island, would you still consider it a nyc show?

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 10:55 AM

". And yes the Giants are a NJ team."

The only NY football team are the Buffalo Bills.

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 10:55 AM

yeah so much for Philly and NYC...all in the JERZ.

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 10:59 AM

"out of curiosity, if they played staten island, would you still consider it a nyc show?"

No i would not.

"The only NY football team are the Buffalo Bills."

Fuck them too

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 10:59 AM

"I don't pay a toll to see bands play in NYC"

Yeah dude, take a stand!

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 11:02 AM

"I don't pay a toll to see bands play in NYC. "

The PATH is actually cheaper than the NY subway.

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 11:04 AM

""I don't pay a toll to see bands play in NYC. "

The PATH is actually cheaper than the NY subway."

Some of us here in NYC actually drive a car, knucklehead.

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 11:06 AM

you cant really drive to APW, unless you want to pay the insane car pool fee.

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 11:07 AM

The PATH leaves awkward balances on my MTA card and the whole state smells like AXE body spray.

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 11:12 AM

im sure the parking at APW is easy

Posted by NY Car Driver | April 7, 2008 11:12 AM

I'm still holding out hope that Radiohead will announce a third leg of this tour in the fall, which will include a NYC proper date.

Posted by Dan | April 7, 2008 11:14 AM

:(

i got stuck with a liars date

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 11:20 AM

"Some of us here in NYC actually drive a car, knucklehead."

why?

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 11:28 AM

What's wrong with Liars?

Posted by Les | April 7, 2008 11:31 AM

they are ok I guess I'd just would have MUCH preferred to see Grizzly Bear open for Radiohead.

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 11:35 AM

what ever happened to underworld opening? now theres an opener that wont put half the audience to sleep.

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 11:38 AM

Liars is so far above Grizzly Bear it's not funny.

Posted by Jesus H. Christ | April 7, 2008 11:38 AM

"with that logic the giants are a nj team."

Well, they do suck...

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 11:40 AM

how did philly get screwed? Camden is literally 5-10 minutes from center city.

Posted by d.d.ddave | April 7, 2008 11:40 AM

Jesus H. Christ, you are merely my son and don't know jack shit. And are VERY wrong.

re:d.d.ddave

the majority of posters on bv just moved here from the midwest, and have no idea what the geography in the tri-state region is like. most probably still think it's unsafe to live in brooklyn.

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 11:42 AM

APW sux balls - I'm driving to Philly

At least there you'll be able to see them (APW will have 40,000 crammed in there, no thanks)

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 11:43 AM

"most probably still think it's unsafe to live in brooklyn"

I think most of these Midwesterners think its unsafe to leave Brooklyn at this point

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 11:49 AM

"APW sux balls - I'm driving to Philly

At least there you'll be able to see them (APW will have 40,000 crammed in there, no thanks)"

Obviously from a dumb statement like that, you were not at the Radiohead show there a few years back. You can see fine there. The stage is raised well and it is a huge place with plenty of room to move around.

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 11:51 AM

The Radiohead show at LSP in 2001 was fantastic...great view and sound from anywhere...don't see a problem with 40K there at all.

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 11:54 AM

Jersey City is as much NYC as Brooklyn or Queens would be in terms of proximity and I'm sure with what APW are paying Radiohead for 2 nights they've asked for exclusivity in NYC area
....dems the brakes...
also re: DC , they are playing there in May

Posted by Fred | April 7, 2008 11:58 AM

i was all the way in the back for lsp, and the view and sound was perfect. but i do believe though that for the '01 shows, they only let about 20,000 people in. With twice the capacity, I think space is going to be a luxury for APW.

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 11:59 AM

"they only let about 20,000 people in. "

Actually, I think it was around 24,000. I went to the first show, amazing!

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 12:02 PM

"i was all the way in the back for lsp, and the view and sound was perfect. but i do believe though that for the '01 shows, they only let about 20,000 people in. With twice the capacity, I think space is going to be a luxury for APW."

They let in much more than that for the 2001 show. In fact im pretty sure they are letting in the same amount this year. Space will be fine.

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 12:02 PM

personally, it's not so much about traveling or "skipping" NYC or any of that.
i just don't want to go to a festival to see them.
i'd much rather see them somewhere in the city with an opening band or two, and that's it.
APW is awesome, the whole idea of a festival so close to home.
but i want to see them and only them.

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 12:08 PM

Atease has an article that says "Radiohead played to 50K NYC fans in two days"

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 12:17 PM

that means 40k a night right?

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 12:20 PM

Yes and anyone who reads Atease regularly knows that not everything they print is spot on. It is much like the fools on here who go to a pillow fight in Union Square and claim 3000 people were there or when there is a parade in Manhattan and different organizations have strikingly different attendence numbers.

Trust me there is going to be plenty of room at APW and you will be able to see and hear the band fine.

End of discussion on that point.

RE: 12:08PM

Here's an idea: show up just before they play.

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 12:29 PM

anybody have any presale information? where? when? how?

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 1:01 PM

i hate to say it, but if you dont know what the radiohead presale drill is by now, then you're probably not that big of a fan.

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 1:04 PM

SO IS DAFT PUNK PLAYING LATE NIGHT OR WOT?

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 1:13 PM

Here's another idea: show up just before daft punk plays.

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 1:15 PM

the idea of APW is fine - too bad it has failed to deliver a true festival line up.

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 1:32 PM

anon 12:24

yeah 40,000 people not a problem huh?

Keep thinking that retard

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 1:33 PM

yeah APW won't be as good as a proper Radiohead gig - but it might be worth going, then again the rest of the line up is lame for the money they are charging (Jack effing johnson).

Second though F APW and just go to Philly.

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 1:35 PM

MSG is on 8/11

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 1:37 PM

Let's see....

15-20,000 with seats or 40,000 people all cramming to see Thom dance to Idoioteque.

Hmmm, call me crazy but the Radiohead tour seems like a better (and cheaper) option than APW.

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 1:37 PM

Not doin APW.

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 1:38 PM

presale on wednesday

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 1:45 PM

THEY WILL NOT BE AT THE GARDEN ON AUG 11! Jonas Brothers are playing MSG Aug 10-11! Nice try! APW is their only NYC area appearence! Liberty State Park is less than 5 miles from MSG!

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 1:45 PM

>>>MSG is on 8/11

nope....

Posted by Steve | April 7, 2008 1:46 PM

Awww, man, fuck that Outside Lands festival shit... sucks that they snatched up Radiohead's only SF show, with tickets for the festival currently at over 200 bucks. That biiiiiiiiiites.

Posted by Lord Kook | April 7, 2008 1:53 PM

"Trust me there is going to be plenty of room at APW and you will be able to see and hear the band fine."

Why should I trust you?

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 1:53 PM

you shouldn't

APW is going to suck balls as far as "seeing" anybody.

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 2:07 PM

":(

i got stuck with a liars date"

pfft and you're complaining?

I got stuck with a grizzly bear date.. I can only imagine it'll be just like seeing The Beta Band open for them... bring a pillow fans!

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 3:02 PM

What's the presale code?

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 3:08 PM

hell yeah i'm complaining, they suck. Seen grizzly bear and they are fucking amazing.

"In many ways, Radiohead's August 17th concert at New Jersey's Liberty State Park ... In a huge outdoor venue, Radiohead played under the shadow of the Statue of Liberty and the imposing downtown Manhattan skyline, flanked by the Hudson River. In front of more than 15,000 mostly twenty-somethings swaying ... "

This review said 15,000 were in attendance. Could look seeing them in a venue of 40,000! Hopefully the TV screens will be huge, because they will be like ants in stage.

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 3:26 PM

Yeah and Atease said 50000 over 2 days which would be about 25000 each day. Again as stated above unless you were there you have no idea. They will not look like ants, Plenty of visibility there.

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 3:30 PM

"Yeah and Atease said 50000 over 2 days"

No, it didn't. Find the article.

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 3:37 PM

At ease might have 25000 waste tickets - but yeah 40,000 per day for APW.

That is official from Goldenvoice.

They will look like ants.

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 3:50 PM

"At ease might have 25000 waste tickets - but yeah 40,000 per day for APW.

As far as i know the APW shows are not sold out yet.Not even close. And with any festival or big show, scalpers buy up a lot of the tickets, So i highly doubt 40000 people will be there. A much smaller amount for sure

You anon 3:50 look like a turd

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 4:03 PM

40,000 would not pay to see that piece of shit lineup

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 4:14 PM

"40,000 would not pay to see that piece of shit lineup"

From your mouth to god's ears. Yes please anyone reading this. Follow this shithead and other dummies advice. Do not come to this show. It will suck badly. Do something else.

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 4:20 PM

quit complaining new yorkers with your feelings of entitlement that you have to be so inconvenienced to go to jersey and pay a toll. those of us in detroit cant see them without a 4 hour drive to chicago in one direction or toronto in the other.

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 4:37 PM

Everyone just stay away from APW!! More room for me. I was at the '01 show and it was awe-some.

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 4:44 PM

Again you are talking about a Radiohead show in the context of a festival...

THAT is the problem with APW, it's just a expensive Radiohead gig. with a shitload more people trying to cram in one places sans assigned seats.

Ugh - no thanks

Don't worry fuckos I'm sure there will be 40,000 others who disagree with me on APW and go to it, despite it looking like major suckville.

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 5:20 PM

The crowd at APW is a lock to be Douchbag Hipster central.

Fuck that.

Posted by apwsux | April 7, 2008 5:22 PM

from the comments here - I'm staying at home - who wants to be around all these dickheads?

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 5:29 PM

i do!

Posted by Les | April 7, 2008 6:19 PM

Posted by P Niddy | April 7, 2008 6:28 PM

april 13th

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 7:05 PM

haven't you people ever been to jersey? You don't pay a toll to get to NJ from NY, its the other way around you freaks.

Posted by anon | April 7, 2008 8:36 PM

After reading comments from every overly sensitive whiny hipster douche about APW, I'm glad I never even had the chance to score tickets to that.

long live radiohead @ electric factory, philly, '05.

Posted by anon | April 7, 2008 8:41 PM

I'd much rather score a ticket to see your mother in the World's Fatest Woman tent at the freak show.

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 9:15 PM

you guys all need to get away from your laptops for a few minutes and take some deep breaths.

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 9:51 PM

im so scoring jumbo rocks in irvington on my way up to the show

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2008 10:20 PM

APW shows - epic fails

Posted by Anonymous | April 8, 2008 1:08 AM

no matter how you slice it - the APW shosw are bound to suck. Not because of Radiohead, but because of too many dicks showing up.

40,000 is a lot of dicks.

Posted by Anonymous | April 8, 2008 1:17 AM

well, I hope all those dicks get behind my ass.

wait... um.

I just wanted to say that I plan on being in front, so I don't give a shit about how big the dicks are behind me.

oh... never mind.

(seriously, let's run with this yogi berra nobody's going because it'll be too crowded thing. maybe we'll all be able to spread out our blankets and just laugh and laugh.)

Posted by maj | April 8, 2008 3:12 AM

Does anyone know what time the presale begins on April 9?

Posted by rachel | April 8, 2008 8:20 AM

apparently for the 1st leg of the NA tour, the pressale was from about 8:30-9:00am

Posted by Anonymous | April 8, 2008 9:15 AM

Was anyone lucky enough to get presale tickets when they went onsale this morning? They sold out in about 3 minutes. Damn!

Posted by Anonymous | April 8, 2008 9:57 AM

I love when yuppie a-hole manhattanites would rather go all the way uptown to go to some piece of shit bar and think traveling 5 minutes to jersey city is the lamest thing ever, cause that means when i go out in jersey city, i dont have to be surrounded by all you A-HOLES!!!

radiohead knows whats up....

Posted by The Thrill | April 8, 2008 10:24 AM

I agree it is silly to not see Radiohead because the show is technically in New Jersey. The real reason to not see the show is that APW is a very weak festival. At double the crowd size of the 2001 shows, good luck seeing the band.

Posted by Anonymous | April 8, 2008 10:43 AM

agreed - good luck seeing anything.

40,000 per show is A TON of people.

Posted by Anonymous | April 8, 2008 11:32 AM

presale time will change for this leg of the tour, it always does, anyone who knows waste habits knows this, nothing is when it says it is.

most people knew it would be in the am - some waste members claiming it was 2 am, but the tickets went on sale at exactly 9:18 am for us here in Dallas. (eastern time)

Posted by Anonymous | April 8, 2008 11:35 AM

does anyone know the password for the pre-sale?

Posted by Anonymous | April 8, 2008 1:15 PM

"At double the crowd size of the 2001 shows, good luck seeing the band.

"agreed - good luck seeing anything.

Posted by Anonymous | April 8, 2008 11:32 AM"

K just to clear it up again so folks understand that these 2 fucking morons above plus a number of the others are spouting complete misinformation. It is a huge park. Even if 40000 people were to show up you would be able to see the band fine. Maybe not as good as being right upfront but then these idiots going to see them anywhere else will be in the same boat unless they are upfront as well.
But there will not be even close to 40000 people there. The shows are very undersold at this point. Scalpers own a tremendous amount of the tickets that are sold. Mark my words you are going to have plenty of room to move around and enjoy the show. Just know the truth and keep egging on these fools to bad mouth the festival. That will make damn sure more people will not buy tickets and you will see 2 great Radiohead performances in an absolutely beautiful setting.

Posted by Anonymous | April 8, 2008 1:33 PM

Wouldn't say it is undersold as the saturday show was sold out for a while on ticketmaster and then reappeared a few days later towards the beginning of the onsale.

Posted by Anonymous | April 8, 2008 1:42 PM

Actually anonymous 1:33pm - you are the moron.

So here is what we know - the original "sold out" status of APW (Saturday) of these shows was at a capacity of 30,000. They have since raised that to 40,000 (like they said they would), so we are somewhere between those two numbers.

There is no misinformation - read the LA Times and Billboard interviews with Paul T (Goldenvoice) if you need clarity.

So not close to 40k huh? When does the number get "close" for you? 30,000? 35,000?

Point is, even 30,000 people is a shitload, easily 10-15k more than your average RH date. So seeing them isn't as fine and easy as you make it out to be.

Plus - the fact that no other act will be playing means every one will be watching them and not spread out seeing other (what other?) acts that APW simply doesn't offer.

Thus the major flaw of this festival is again revealed.

Posted by Anonymous | April 8, 2008 1:47 PM

hey idiots - there is no presale code.

Posted by Anonymous | April 8, 2008 1:49 PM

yeah no matter how many tickets they sale to APW - it WILL be crowded as fuck.

It has nothing to do with the size of the park you fucking idiot (anon 1:33)

Posted by Anonymous | April 8, 2008 1:52 PM

"Actually anonymous 1:33pm - you are the moron.

Oh good lord, arguing with people who have absolutely NO IDEA of what they are talking about. If you are getting the info on ticket sales etc from having to look at interviews with promoters then you have no fucking clue. And you are in fact the moron. For those of us who either work in the concert industry or know people who do we get our info from a little more secure places. Yes the shows are undersold. Promoters do not always state "truths" for obvious reasons. And even if over 30000 were sold so far(which is not true) how do you know the allocations? Do you know how many ticket agencies(scalpers) were given tickets and how many? No you have no fucking clue. And where do you plan on seeing the band anyway? Because any of these arenas you see them in, unless you are close on the floor you are gonna be looking at the screens as well.

And most festivals put the headliners on with no one else playing. Even Lollapalooza is gonna do that this year.

The flaw is in your brain, schmuck.

But please keep spouting that misinformation so those of us who do go to APW will have a great time and be able to see the band fine.

Posted by Anonymous | April 8, 2008 1:59 PM

Thanks for the clarification on the original size and the renewed of the festival. I was unaware of that! I was at the original Radiohead shows at Liberty State Park and had a great time! Can't wait to go again!

Posted by Anonymous | April 8, 2008 1:59 PM

No matter which way you slice it, the 2001 shows had 15K people, and APW will have minimum 20000 at the worst. You do the math.

Radiohead are playing the first night of Lollapalooza, which means during the same time as another big act.

Posted by Anonymous | April 8, 2008 2:23 PM

most festivals DO NOT put on one artist at a time.

fucking idiot that guy.

Posted by Anonymous | April 8, 2008 2:58 PM

looks like the fucking moron (anon 1:59) is defending his ticket purchase.

HAHAHA - what an idiot! Um... most festivals have multiple acts going on different stages retard. You are a clueless fuckface.

Posted by Anonymous | April 8, 2008 3:00 PM

this is true.

Posted by Anonymous | April 8, 2008 3:01 PM

Ok for the last few Anon dopes

Apparently not only do you spout off on ticket info which you have no idea about but also you lack the ability to read. Leads me to believe these are all the same posters but anyway

What was said was "And most festivals put the headliners on with no one else playing"

Meaning the final band of the night..do you know what a HEADLINER means? Yes of course most festivals put on simultaneous acts you dickhead but the last band of the night which is usually the biggest band otherwise known as the headliner plays alone with no other bands playing. And in fact it has been widely announced that this years Lollapalooza will follow that trend.

Oh and also

"No matter which way you slice it, the 2001 shows had 15K people, and APW will have minimum 20000 at the worst. You do the math."

Again with the stating of fact which is not a fact. You have no idea what you are talking about. There were more than 15000 people at LSP the first time around.

Posted by Anonymous | April 8, 2008 3:11 PM

any educated guesses as to when the presale starts tomorrow? thx

Posted by Dori | April 8, 2008 3:18 PM

During Lollapalooza, only the Sunday night headliner goes unopposed. Since Radiohead are playing Friday night, they will be playing at the same time as another band. Maybe not starting/ending at the same time, but for most of their set, there will be music on another stage.

APW will have a similar model, but the secondary acts are too weak, unlike Lollapalooza. Only Saturday has a small conflict with the Roots and Radiohead/KoL.

Anon 3:30pm. That was true for Lollapalooza in the past but the word this year is all 3 days the headliner(last band) will be playing unopposed

APW will not have any conflicts. Radiohead plays unopposed both nights.

Posted by Anonymous | April 8, 2008 3:35 PM

presale tomorrow - either 2am or 10 am.

seriously

Posted by Anonymous | April 8, 2008 5:24 PM

I heard between 9:30 am and 10:30 am for the presale.

but that is mainly just chatter on the RH boards

Posted by Anonymous | April 8, 2008 5:25 PM

I'm going to the APW and enjoying it. It's on a Saturday and it's right in my home city. Better than trekking out to bumfuck Camden for a show. Plus, that venue sucks.

Posted by Anonymous | April 8, 2008 5:53 PM

APW is still in NJ, regardless of it being a 20 min. commute from NYC, Radiohead skipped NYC - tski tsk.

Posted by Anonymous | April 8, 2008 8:52 PM

Everyone is saying that NYC is boring nowawadays anyway.

Posted by Anonymous | April 8, 2008 8:57 PM

"That was true for Lollapalooza in the past but the word this year is all 3 days the headliner(last band) will be playing unopposed"

where did you hear that?

Posted by Anonymous | April 8, 2008 11:02 PM

lolla unopposed band is Nine Inch Nails then. The way it should be.

Posted by anon | April 9, 2008 1:27 AM

Posted by Anonymous | April 9, 2008 8:42 AM

can anyone get onto the waste ticket site???

Posted by Anonymous | April 9, 2008 9:34 AM

i'm on the site, but its not letting me do anything. For a second it asked me how many tickets I wanted, but wouldn't let me get past that

Posted by Anonymous | April 9, 2008 9:37 AM

it won't even load the ticket page for me

Posted by Anonymous | April 9, 2008 9:38 AM

Mine not loading either...had better luck with Theater at MSG! Go figure!

Posted by Anonymous | April 9, 2008 9:40 AM

Dont even bother. Waste is a fucking joke and a waste. I got in the second it went on sale. Got 2 tickets for Camden in the pit. Went to check out and then it said not enough avail. Now its all locked up and you cant even get in.
WHy do they even bother having a presale if they cant handle the load. So 2 people can actually get tickets
There is something to be said for Ticketmaster

Posted by Anonymous | April 9, 2008 9:40 AM

where did you see it started at 10am ? i think it started earlier - got to a page and it looked like it was already on sale around 920 - havent had luck on the site since....

Posted by Anonymous | April 9, 2008 9:40 AM

its 9:48 and i'm stuck on the "how many tickets do you want" screen

Posted by Anonymous | April 9, 2008 9:46 AM

they should take a cue from pearl jam and stagger their on sale times so they can handle the traffic.

Posted by Anonymous | April 9, 2008 9:48 AM

I got pit last time on Waste for Theater at MSG! It works if you get lucky! Odds are slim though :(

Posted by Anonymous | April 9, 2008 9:48 AM

so no one has gotten tickets???

this blows.

Posted by Anonymous | April 9, 2008 9:58 AM

Posted by Anonymous | April 9, 2008 9:59 AM

Posted by Anonymous | April 9, 2008 10:00 AM

"That was true for Lollapalooza in the past but the word this year is all 3 days the headliner(last band) will be playing unopposed"

Posted by Anonymous | April 9, 2008 11:04 AM

Tried for two hours (on and off) to get a Camden ticket. No luck -- hopefully Ticketmaster will work out better.

Posted by Anonymous | April 9, 2008 11:13 AM

Yeah it started about 9:20 am - some of the boards were reporting 10:00-10:30, but it was prolly to through scalpers off a bit.

Everything was pretty much crashed the entire time. W.a.s.t.e. should have expected this. Demand was furious.

So much for people doing APW and not traveling to Camden and the like. Those shows are going to be crazy! So much better than a any stinky festival.

Posted by pablohoney | April 9, 2008 11:14 AM

the waste sale was crazy this morning. Radiohead have a devoted following, no?

Posted by Anonymous | April 9, 2008 1:25 PM

already there are 13 items for the camden show on ebay. motherf**kers.

to kill the scalping biz once and for all:
step 1. print the purchasers name on the ticket, step 2. have front door staff check id at the venue to see if the names match

yes, if you purchase tickets and can no longer go, you will not be able to resell. but a different approach can be used. perhaps the purchaser cancels through ticketmaster, is assesed a "cancellation fee" issued by ticketmaster, and then TM re-sells the tickets.

Posted by chad | April 9, 2008 4:57 PM

i got pit tix!!! stayed up all night and finally they went onsale at 9:08 est this morning. waste worked like a charm. i'm so excited!

Posted by anonymous | April 9, 2008 11:38 PM

how long does WASTE usually take to let you know where "reserved seats" are when you get the tix through them?

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2008 11:23 AM

it's a while... if it's the same as 1st leg, expect a 4-5 week wait for the email from them.

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2008 11:31 AM

what about when a parent buys tickets for their kids, or you buy them but then can't go so you give them to a friend? It could be done, but it would be such a hassle. Blame the legislature for legalizing scalping as well (in NY)

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2008 11:45 AM

Where are the reserved seats usually for the tickets purchased through WASTE?

I noticed they were about $9 more face value than the most expensive ticket listed on ticketmaster ($62 on WASTE $55 on ticketmaster), plus you still had to pay $6 handling fee for each ticket and $10 shipping.

Dont get me wrong if this is going to get me a very sweet reserved seat I am not complaining at all, but I thought the idea of "presales" setup on artists' own websites was to sidestep handling charges etc.

Posted by Anonymous | April 10, 2008 5:14 PM

So since I didn't get presale tickets for their Jersey show, will I not be able to get good tickets? Are all the pit tickets gone now?

Posted by Anonymous | April 11, 2008 1:42 PM

I really can't stand all of this Ny sucks, NJ sucks nonsense. If you don't want to pay a toll or whatever than so be it. You don't have to go make fun of an entire state. The truth is stupid people (who wear axe body spray) live everywhere, from california to New York and its ok not to like them, but if your bad mouthing a whole state for some idiotic reason, Well than your just as bad. So stop bickering about what's better. I'm sure Radiohead doesn't even realize LSP is in Jersey, but who cares. its Radiohead. So get over yourself (all of you jersey and new york criticizers) and lets all say we love radiohead equally. Your acting like a bunch of 3-year-olds.
