Does anyone know if there were ever GA standing room tix available for MSG, or is the whole floor GA seating?

Posted by michaelways | April 5, 2008 10:10 AM

I think the whole floor is reserved seating for this one.

Got sect 9. w00t!

Posted by maitai | April 5, 2008 10:15 AM

got upper level tickets @ Jones Beach. turned down same type of tickets @ MSG b/c they were 15 dollars more a piece.

anyone know the transportation situation at Jones Beach from NYC?

Posted by jkov | April 5, 2008 10:22 AM

i hope you know that jones beach does not sell any alcohol.

Posted by Anonymous | April 5, 2008 10:25 AM

That's why God created flasks.

Posted by maitai | April 5, 2008 10:34 AM

floor tickets for the MSG! wahoo!

Posted by Anonymous | April 5, 2008 10:52 AM

10th row orchestra C at Jones Beach. Not bad at all. I had good MSG floor seats but it was too pricey so I went with the beach.

Posted by Anonymous | April 5, 2008 11:09 AM

Yeah i got orchestra C 4th row at Jones Beach. Trust me people, the show at Jones Beach is going to so much better. Better sound and better atmosphere. Laughing at the fools who went with MSG instead because of the no beer policy in the seats at Jones. If you are one of those people who chooses alcohol over sound for a show, i must invite you to join AA as soon as possible. For those of us that made the right choice, this is what tailgating is for.

Posted by Anonymous | April 5, 2008 11:18 AM

Um...who said anything about choosing MSG because they serve beer? Unnecessary roughness.

Both shows will be fantastic.

Posted by maitai | April 5, 2008 11:48 AM

maybe people choose MSG because it's a total pain in the ass to get out to jones beach...

Posted by rocked the shit | April 5, 2008 11:59 AM

MSG=5 minutes on the subway.
Jones Beach=serious pain in the ass.

Posted by Anonymous | April 5, 2008 12:11 PM

Yeah, I would definitely consider renting a car for Jones Beach. Public transportion there is a serious pain. Still, it could be fun if it's a nice day & you have access to a vehicle. But it probably wasn't worth it for the $15 you saved in tickets, jkov... b/c you'll probably be spending more to get out there!

Posted by Anonymous | April 5, 2008 12:30 PM

"maybe people choose MSG because it's a total pain in the ass to get out to jones beach..."
thats the mere reason why I did it. went to Jones Beach once before during the week, not even saturday, and it took me two hours to get home after the show. it isn't really a matter of how cose to the stage you are but how muhc you enjoy yourself at the show

Posted by Anonymous | April 5, 2008 12:41 PM

I agree, this is a no-brainer. Why worry about getting out to LI when you can get to Garden on any number of trains, regardless of location.

"Um...who said anything about choosing MSG because they serve beer? Unnecessary roughness.

maybe if you read the comments on this thread or the earlier one about the show. Plenty of comments suggesting that such as this

"i hope you know that jones beach does not sell any alcohol.

Posted by Anonymous | April 5, 2008 10:25 AM"

Jones Beach is really not that much of a pain in the ass to get to. As long as you are not a total idiot. Plus it is really not that expensive to do it either. It is not like you are traveling to another city.

I will take paying a few extra dollars for a better concert experience any day of the week

MSG=horrible atmosphere and bad sound
Jones Beach=beautiful atmosphere and wonderful sound.

Posted by Anonymous | April 5, 2008 12:52 PM

i'm just surprised that so many good tickets are STILL available and it's 1PM EST.
for fun, i went into ticketmaster came up with a Section 6 ticket, surprisingly. bought it and sold my Section 11 ticket to my friend.

msg's gonna be on fire that night.

Posted by Anonymous | April 5, 2008 1:02 PM

anon 12:52 PM

jones is cheaper actually.
and don't be a cocksucker and lay down "bad sound at msg blah blah" card.
the sound is NOT bad.
and horrible atmoshere? wtf are you talking about?
sure it isn't next to a beach but it's Madison Square Garden for fucks sake. get off that disgusting horse of yours.

Anon 1:06pm

I am not that guy 12:52pm but I will come at you with the "bad sound at msg blah blah" card

The sound there is awful unless of course you are deaf.

"Anon 1:06pm

Agreed. The sound at MSG is horrible. More power to those who enjoy the sound at MSG. Unless you're on the floor, it's a lost cause.

Posted by Eric | April 5, 2008 2:58 PM

I can't believe any of you clowns are talking shit about MSG.
M S G = the big stage.
if a show has to be that size, that's the place to see it.
the garden is fantastic...it's loud as fuck (but this is "rock n roll right"??) and there's more vibe than you can shake a stick at...
anybody that would rather truck out to lon g'island is more than welcome to...

Posted by the big apple | April 5, 2008 3:21 PM

I am just really annoyed that folks got better seats for Jones today then we got during the presale! Grrrrr. I can't believe folks got 4th row orchestra, why did I bother with the presale.

Posted by Anonymous | April 5, 2008 4:03 PM

Anon 4:03pm, this happens sometimes, but don't believe everything you read here. I'm not saying whoever claimed he/she got 4th row tix was lying, but there are people here who'd like to BS for the sake of BSing. Also you never know when you can get the best seats. Ticketing business is a whole big mess with Ticketmaster, promoters, scalpers and even artists screwing fans big time.

Posted by Anonymous | April 5, 2008 5:02 PM

There's a reason for tickets sold during the regular sale to be better than those sold during a presale. The artist / promoter / ticket seller figures the biggest fans will jump at the first chance to buy tickets, so better seats are offered during the regular sale to entice people who are on the fence.

Now that you know, the next time there's a presale for a concert you want to attend, don't assume the seats that pop up during the process are the best you'll be able to get for the official price, unless it's a fan-club-only type thing and the fan club explicitly states that the best seats (other than those held for music industry suits and other VIPs) are reserved for that.

Posted by Anonymous | April 5, 2008 7:11 PM

Nice logic, too bad its wrong.

For the Bjork presale through bjork.com for the 3 shows in May of last year, I got front row center, 3rd row center and 14th row center. The others in the presale got similar amazing seats.

Posted by Anonymous | April 5, 2008 7:47 PM

Fine, Anon. 7:47. If my logic is wrong, then why *does* it happen? (It happens a lot, in my experience.)

I never said it was a hard and fast rule.

Posted by Anon. 7:11 | April 5, 2008 7:59 PM

It's about 9pm and the best I can get for MSG now is 300 level.

Posted by Anonymous | April 5, 2008 9:01 PM

MSG aint bad. There is something about 17,000 people singing along to "Everybody Hurts" at the Garden that cant be compared to the stiffs at Jones Beach.

Posted by Anonymous | April 5, 2008 10:58 PM

I'd have to have several drinks to be able to sit through "Everybody Hurts," with or without the audience singing along.

Posted by ugh | April 5, 2008 11:34 PM

laser cats.

Posted by Anonymous | April 6, 2008 1:36 AM

got close seats for meriweather post pavilion in maryland. arguably the best acoustics for any ampitheatre in america.

Posted by Anonymous | April 6, 2008 1:51 AM

Anon 9:01pm

just checked myself and came up with this:

Section: 205
Row: C
Seats: 13

Yeah well you are a dumb shit. I go to a concert to hear the band play. If i wanted to hear the crowd id go to a karaoke bar.

Posted by Anonymous | April 6, 2008 6:11 PM

Take this dumb MSG vs Jones Beach fight outside ya dopes. Both venues suck. And the price for food is bananas.

Posted by Anonymous | April 6, 2008 11:37 PM

I got really crappy tickets last sat.The last time REM played the Garden,I had much better seats.

Posted by Anonymous | April 11, 2008 11:21 AM

Doors: 6pm
The National: 7pm
