Studio B's rooftop garden will include palm trees

When news of a rooftop garden opening atop Brooklyn hipster haven/neighborhood nuisance Studio B began making the rounds this month, certain Greenpoint locals expressed concern that the introduction of fresh air and plant life would make the club's already rowdy patrons even rowdier. There was some hope the project might be delayed while the club got its building permits in order, but if the greenery in this picture taken earlier this week is any indication, progress would seem to be continuing apace. -- Adam Bonislawski [NY Post]PREVIOUSLY: Studio B's rooftop garden will include retractable glass roof

every spot needs outdoor access. we need more rooftop bars in greenpoint. more outdoor bars!!!!!
i hate sitting inside. there is not enough space at pencil factory or coco's....
please dont stop this from happening. you live in the city people. you should all be use to trash and noise. like anon said up there its GP and it parts of it always smell like trash. plus you have all the polish people blaring ridiculous music....i dont see why this is being so ridiculed. the garbage issue is bs and sutdio b should be made to clean that block and the surrounding blocks....but let have fun its nyc after all if you want to start a family and want quiet time move upstate

Has anybody been to studio B? I want to go to the gardening opening just because I really want to see Spank Rock but I can't stand hipster trash. Is it at least a good venue?

I enjoy the sound system at Studio B. An outdoor space at any venue is a good thing to have. We will all see how this turns out; hopefully nothing too terribly dumb happens.

But what about the hipster trash? Is it that terrible, or would I have a good time anyway considering I like the music?
Posted by Antonio | April 24, 2008 4:05 PM
if you hate hipster (trash), why do you visit this website?
Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2008 4:16 PM
Are you hipster trash? Does it offend you, yeah(no pun intended)? I visit this site cause I like the music, not the phony, elitist, and plain ridiculous aesthetic that unfortunately often comes with it.

^^^I love you.

antonio, i really don't care enough to be offended. the point i was making is that "indie" music, particularly of the more experimental variety, has been and always will be enjoyed mostly by people who have "hipster" qualities. if you can honestly claim that you have none, you're one of the very few. but if you want to see these bands live, you'll have to put up with the skinny pants set whether you like it or not. (not to mention the fact that most of the bands you like probably also have shag cuts and ironic beards.)

great, so the skinheads can throw coconuts at each other. Mango fight!
Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2008 4:46 PM
i miss indie when it was really "indie".

i wonder if jonny leather will consider any mexicans he sees on the rooftop as clearly being "out of place thugs?"
