Tapes 'n Tapes bassists - old vs. new, Friday night in NYC

Cloud Cult

Tapes n Tapes are a Minneapolis band, are currently on tour, and are playing a show (at Irving Plaza) in NYC tonight (April 18, 2008) (tix).

Cloud Cult are also a Minneapolis band, are also currently on tour, and are also playing a show in NYC tonight (except at Bowery Ballroom) (tix).

Tapes n Tapes replaced their bassist (Shawn Neary) with a new bassist (Erik Appelwick) back in April of 2006.

Shawn (who also plays trombone) went on to join Cloud Cult in 2007. Cloud Cult is constantly changing their lineup, but Sean still plays with them to this day. I guess my point is just that I hope Tapes n Tapes don't accidentally stumble across a drunk and ready-to-rumble Cloud Cult (known in Minneapolis for giving severe beatdowns) tonight on the Lower East Side.

Cloud Cult also played a show at Union Hall last night (with the Forms). Tapes n Tapes also play Music Hall of Williamsburg on Saturday (with White Denim).

oooh the hippies vs. the hipsters. yawn! both bands suck and will be forgotten about in 6 months. the new tapes 'n tapes is a piece of shit, hope you enjoyed your 15 minutes. maybe you can tour with clap your hands say yeah someday. cloud cult is cool if you like patchouli. they'll be playing jam band festivals soon enough.

stop fucking hating on bands because people like them...jesus...so much negativity. this "backlash" towards any band that is successful is truly disgusting. if you don't like a band then don't listen to them but there is no need to try to ruin their careers. i've never listened to tapes n tapes but this hate is fucking ridiculous.
