The latest Tapes 'N Tapes tour doesn't reach NYC until April 18th (tickets) & 19th (tickets), but the Minneapolis band is visiting NYC today (April 8, 2008) (the release date of their new album Walk It Off) to play a free show at the Union Square Virgin Megastore (7pm).
The new album is streaming at Spinner. A new Daytrotter session is up too which means....free non-album MP3s's (that's also where I got the drawing to the left).
The actual TNT tour kicks off in Minneapolis on Thursday (which means TNT came all the way to NYC just for this in-store....and to be Conan..... and then have to go back home before leaving on tour to come here again). They're touring with Texas band White Denim. For free WD music, check out the exclusive EP RCRD LBL is giving away, and the newish video below......

White Denim fucking destroyed at Plug 2008, outdone only by Nick Cave.
Tapes' first one was only halfway good, and if everyone's right and the new one isn't even as good as the first...

man, white denim was horrible. they totally wrecked the flow of the night, it was like something that i'd expect at a bar near a convention center.
tapes'n'tapes had to work hard to get it going after that. their part of the show was good, but almost all the songs seemed to be played a little too fast.
and if they ever lose that drummer, they're done. nice job by him tonight.
