I don't know whose idea it was to put El-P on last, but it was pretty embarresing when everyone left before he went on.

It was a good idea, you didnt have to sit through two other shit acts waiting for Crystal Castles to come on. In the future all shows should be like this, best act first, openers close the show...

EL-P was making hip hop albums when the Cool Kids were still in diapers. RESPECT
Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2008 1:19 PM
El-P's a shit act huh.
I love BV's comment section

El-P a shit act? Wow. Like him or not, dude's been doing hip hop a service for ~16 years, putting out albums since Company Flow as a rapper, engineer, beat maker and label owner. I think he's earned a bit more respect than to be lumped in as a "shit act" who deserves less respect than an electronic duo (how many of those are there?) with one full-length album under their belt.
And that's no strike against CC. I have the album, and thoroughly enjoy it.

CC are fun, and i enjoy them as well, but they aren't doing anything special. a bunch of young kids may pack the floor when they come on to push everybody around in the dark (and call it dancing) and then leave to back to the dorms when theyre done, but that in no way means that a respected and seasoned and bigger act like el-p should ever play before them.

great show. el-p wasnt phased at all that a lot of people left.

People who think Crystal fucking Castles are better than EL-P should be tranquilized, sterilized and released into the wild for study.
Posted by zik | April 4, 2008 2:12 PM
look's like el-p gained that weight back.

"People who think Crystal fucking Castles are better than EL-P should be tranquilized, sterilized and released into the wild for study." i second that. El-P is the man. whoever says different knows nothing about hip-hop.

music!?!?! el-p?!?!?! what's that?!?! look at alice's tights!!!!! they're sooooooooooo punk!!! wow, she's really awesome!!!!!!
Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2008 4:10 PM
El-P would only agree to play if he went on last.

The best Rappers come from the ghetto .. Sorry white fellow..

The Crystal Castles and El-P do not belong on a bill together. Both are amazing at what they do and both should be headlining their own gigs for their own people.

El-P has been making great music for awhile, but he was drunk off his ass that night for sure.
Posted by Ken | April 6, 2008 9:03 PM
just wait a couple months until you are all, "what the fuck is a Crystal Castle?" and the Cool Kids are selling you a slice from Sbarro.
El-p has done more in one song than most musicians have done in their careers.
