the static jacks are not good at all.Nothing spacial.
TPC were great. really good. Shame that it started that late ( after 11pm)

Posted by kaz | April 21, 2008 12:09 PM

Yea Static Jacks, sucked. TPC was pretty good however

Posted by Anonymous | April 21, 2008 12:30 PM

How did Static Jacks get on that bill. Terrible.

Posted by Anonymous | April 21, 2008 12:44 PM

I though TPC and Static Jacks were both great. Smoosh should have been the first opener. And is it me or do they look like they're 14?

Posted by Anonymous | April 21, 2008 1:25 PM

what time did they go on? tokyo police

Posted by me | April 21, 2008 1:34 PM

Yea the chicks in Smoosh are like 14 and 16. TPC went on at 11

Do you need to actually buy the album to get into the Virgin show, or can you get in anyway? I've never been to one.

Posted by Anonymous | April 21, 2008 2:06 PM

anon 2:06... I think you can get in, but I would buy it anyway!

"Do you need to actually buy the album to get into the Virgin show, or can you get in anyway? I've never been to one."

Too cheap to go to one of their THREE concerts? I bet you are downloading the album.

Posted by Anonymous | April 21, 2008 2:20 PM

you can get in but you have to be on the line by 7 am. otherwise it's too late.

Posted by Anonymous | April 21, 2008 2:25 PM

when will they start playing tonight?

Posted by Anonymous | April 21, 2008 4:00 PM

Smoosh are 13 and the little girl playing bass couldn't have been more than 11. These girls couyld have a big future if mom and dad stayout of the way. Talented and cut, the bassist was adorable doing her pigeon-toed stance, kinda like a mini rock star pose. TPC was awesome.

Saw TPC in Montreal this past weekend and they were killer, no filler. The opening band from Montreal was Winter Gloves who were really great as well, you should check them out.

I missed Static Jacks but the sky's the limit for Smoosh. TPC did a killer show and it was a good crowd. All around one of the best shows I've seen at Bowery.

Great show at Willburg music hall last night. Go team Go. And the drummer for Smoosh is a prodigy fyi.

the static jacks were amazing. definitely a band to look for in the future.

pretty good set. nobody was really into the meligrove band, but then again they werent very good (sounded like we are scientists+gang of four). smoosh was smoosh (their dad ran the merch table, nice guy) and people unfortunately talked over most of it. tokyo police club was really good, really great setlist, obviously really nice guys (dont know why everyone tuned their own instruments and set up themselves but dave though). friends of p was pretty good (rentals version is much better)and they REALLY shouldnt have teased us by mentioning how they were going to cover my name is jonas, and then do a limp version of a rentals song instead. understandably though, his voice was out. the keyboardist is also hard to look at for the entire show.

The show was OK, nothing special. I think part of the problem is that the new album isn't as intense as the first two EPs.

The drummer for Smoosh is good, I wish drummers I played with were that good!
