The best swag was probably the 12" various artist vinyl issued by Sony and Universal and the 7" records they were giving out for free. I wasn't able to find any of those exclusive R.E.M, Death Cab, or Built To Spill singles though.

this was a big deal for almost everyone involved -- stores doing buisness like it was Christmas. Lots of shows and free goodies. I wish I had some of those singles, too.
