Posted by treece | April 15, 2008 12:54 PM

"radiohead should open..."

Wilco is great and all but let's not get carried away.

Posted by Anonymous | April 15, 2008 12:59 PM

"Why, Oh, Why, always in the middle of the week??"

I prefer shows in the middle of the week! Leaves my weekends open, especially in the summer for weekend trips.

The pool is outdoors (of course) so they must have an early curfew. 11pm? 10pm? The show will not go on late.

Posted by Anonymous | April 15, 2008 1:02 PM

^^
i'm pretty sure it's earlier than that.

Posted by Anonymous | April 15, 2008 1:36 PM

will Todd P be there?

Posted by Anonymous | April 15, 2008 1:37 PM

The McCarren show's going to be a party for sure, but I can confirm that there will NOT be a second date. Ticket info will be announced soon at http://wilcoworld.net/tours/.

Thanks,

thanks for the news emily.
a party indeed.

Posted by Anonymous | April 15, 2008 2:28 PM

who wanna bet it will either rain or gonna be a 98 degrees day ?
mid august outdoors? risky.

Posted by anon | April 15, 2008 3:24 PM

Hell yeah, This is why it is great to live in St.Louis.

Posted by Eric | April 15, 2008 3:27 PM

thanks emily!

Posted by Anonymous | April 15, 2008 3:32 PM

I'm so there---this makes my summer!!

Posted by Anonymous | April 15, 2008 4:11 PM

except the show is going to be at night - not hte mid afternoon - so unless it rains - we'll be fine

Posted by Anonymous | April 15, 2008 4:18 PM

i'd say this is more of a 2-3 show gig than a one-off. don't get your panties in a bunch wilco fans 'cause they'll probably end up playing all of 'a ghost is born' and one song of off yhft..'reservations'

snoozefest city

Posted by hipster poseur | April 15, 2008 4:22 PM

hipster poseur doesn't know what he's talking about. even if they play a lot of songs from 'a ghost is born'... it will be anything but a 'snoozefest'.

dickweed.

Posted by rocked the shit | April 15, 2008 4:33 PM

wilco. yawn. getting sleepy just thinking about them playing live.

Posted by Anonymous | April 15, 2008 4:56 PM

i hope more people feel the way ^^you do when tickets go on sale

Posted by Anonymous | April 15, 2008 5:00 PM

rocked the shit...has reservations..for ambien and wellbutrin...ambien and wellbutrin....

Posted by hipster poseur | April 15, 2008 5:06 PM

v fest the 9th im guessing

Posted by Anonymous | April 15, 2008 5:17 PM

fuck yea nels!

Posted by Anonymous | April 15, 2008 5:44 PM

Well, considering that Wilco just finished a multi-show run at the Riviera in Chicago where they literally played every single song in their entire catalog at least once...I think its a pretty safe bet that this tour will feature a nice variety of material.

Posted by nyctaper | April 15, 2008 5:58 PM

Wilco = BEST LIVE BAND.

Posted by Oliver | April 15, 2008 6:30 PM

If I miss them at Lolla I'm sneaking into this...

Posted by BTW | April 16, 2008 9:26 AM

Hey, can we get some love for these guys? Even if you are bored by them (I'm decidedly not), this is one of the most popular bands around and they are playing some tiny places-- the Blue Loon in Fairbanks? Stubbs? The Pageant in St. Louis for 3 nights? I don't know all these venues but it seem like the equivalent of doing Webster or the Bowery when you could be playing Hammerstein or Radio City. They are leaving plenty of money on the table in an effort to make their fans happier. Wish more bands would follow the lead.

Posted by David Z | April 16, 2008 11:13 AM

Well put, David Z.

Posted by James Snuka | April 16, 2008 2:23 PM

Not just Hammerstein or Radio City... they headlined a show at MSG a few years back that I believe sold out.

The show at Hammerstein last year sold out in like 30 seconds.

This McCarren show will no doubt sell out very quickly.

Posted by chris | April 23, 2008 10:03 AM

That sold out in 30 seconds! Hope I have better luck on Friday.

Posted by treece | April 23, 2008 10:06 AM

Got nothing at 10:00 and 30 seconds.

Posted by SJ | April 23, 2008 10:08 AM

Don't worry, there'll be plenty of tickets to buy during regular sale.

Posted by Anonymous | April 23, 2008 10:11 AM

I was sitting on the refresh button from 9:59 and sadly no luck, either....the joys of living in NYC....every band that never tours to your home state is playing just down the street, but you STILL can't go see 'em. C'est la guerre, better luck all at the general on sale.

Posted by Anonymous | April 23, 2008 10:18 AM

didn't get this message until 10:28, after trying to refresh for 29 minutes.

* There are currently no tickets available for this event. Please check back later as availability is subject to change.

seems if they can't get the tech to work for pre-sales, they piss off more people then they satisfy...

there's always Friday - or the memories of seeing them at Liberty Lunch (RIP) and Great American Music Hall when they really were at their peak.

Posted by josef | April 23, 2008 10:30 AM

It officially says sold out now on the page.

Posted by SJ | April 23, 2008 10:33 AM

Wow cant believe people had this much trouble. I got in easy right at the start and got my tickets.
What a great show this is going to be

Posted by Anonymous | April 23, 2008 10:42 AM

got my 2. finally, success with a presale. have been consistently f'd in the a by these things

Posted by Anonymous | April 23, 2008 11:44 AM

No luck on 4 computers goin simultaneously at 959 at my school lab

Posted by anonyous | April 23, 2008 12:22 PM

It's bullshit, these tickets sold out in 5 minutes. And then you look at StubHub and they're $100 each!!!

This system is ridiculous. I hope they're going to play more dates.

Posted by Matt | April 25, 2008 12:26 PM

this sure beats that all day standing in line to take a leak show on liberty island... what's it all points west? what is that? all points west..

radiohead should do the fans a favor and open for wilco...

Posted by moldymind | April 26, 2008 1:07 PM

oh, yeah
wilco sold out without advertising...
how cool is that?

Posted by moldymind | April 26, 2008 1:11 PM

oh, yeah
wilco sold out without advertising...
how cool is that?

Posted by moldymind | April 26, 2008 1:13 PM

one more...

the msg show was on new years eve, with the flaming lips and sleater kinney... incredible show...

Tweedy played in his pajamas...

sure beats standing in line at that... what is it all points north?

Posted by moldymind | April 26, 2008 1:19 PM

any ideas as to when they go on stage tomorrow night? doors are at 5...

Posted by Anonymous | August 12, 2008 2:08 PM

10 Pm Curfew. I would say they are on at 730!

Posted by Anonymous | August 12, 2008 2:13 PM

there is an opener - so i think 7:30 is about right. doors 5 - opener at 6:30.

memo to fans - please don't fulfill all of my worst expectations that the douchebag factor will be high. drink, dance, have a great time - just kind of pay attention to the music and don't run your fucking yaps over every tune.

Posted by Anonymous | August 12, 2008 3:03 PM

i cant wait to text and talk the whole way thru their set until they play heavy metal drummer at which point i will play air drums and scream in the face of every single hipster around me while claiming to have vip access and the sickest blow.

also im still on line for the mgmt show so i should get a pretty sweet spot by the stage

Posted by Anonymous | August 12, 2008 6:58 PM

what time will this show start?

Posted by Anonymous | August 13, 2008 8:40 AM
