They played pretty much their entire EP and talked about their new album...

Syracuse, NY based quintet Ra Ra Riot has signed to Seattle's Barsuk Records. The group's debut full length, The Rhumb Line, will be released in North America on August 19th, 2008, and in Europe (on V2) later this fall.

Formed in January 2006 in Syracuse, NY, Ra Ra Riot has quickly gained a devoted following. They have toured extensively in the US and abroad with artists such as Tokyo Police Club and Editors. NME honored them as one of the Top 5 and Top 10 bands at CMJ 2006 and SXSW 2007 respectively. Their self-titled EP has garnered acclaim from Rolling Stone, Nylon, Spin.com, NPR's "All Songs Considered", and many others.

Ra Ra Riot spent late 2007 in the studio with producer Ryan Hadlock (The Gossip, Blonde Redhead, Islands) recording their debut full-length. Early 2008 found the band on the road as always, logging over 80 dates both opening for The Cribs and on a full headlining tour of the US.

Ra Ra Riot is:
Milo Bonacci - Guitars
Alexandra Lawn - Cello
Wesley Miles - Vocals
Mathieu Santos - Bass
Rebecca Zeller - Violin

Their remaining summer shows are as follows:

June 14 - Westword Music Festival (Denver, CO)
July 6 - Summerfest (Milwaukee, WI)
July 26 - Wicker Park Festival (Chicago, IL)

Again, this band sucks in my mind because of the last girl I dated. It's unforntunate because I have one of their songs on my iPod and it's pretty good. I am shallow.

Another amazing show last night - the EP doesn't do them justice. New record can't come soon enough!

They were tremendous opening for the Cribs in Chicago- and yes, every guy was glued to Alexandra.

They were really, really great last night. So much better than when I saw them a couple CMJ's ago. The new songs were pretty great as well.

Ah, they signed to an "indie label" must be worth reporting on then. That ups their musical credibility I'm sure. I mean, they've been around a full 2 years. That's got to mean something right?
