DOWNLOAD: No Age - Eraser (MP3)

No Age on Lamar Pedestrian Bridge (more by Leia Jospe)
No AGe on Lamar Bridge

NounsAs mentioned, No Age release their awesome new record Nouns today (and Pitchfork gave it a very high score) (and it is streaming at Spinner). And as you know, No Age play a show at Bowery Ballroom (again) tonight (May 6) with High Places and Fiasco (and No Age played a show last night for FADER).

"Even on a day when Nine Inch Nails have suddenly dropped a late Easter present of a surprise free album, No Age have completely dominated internet music-chatter." [Status Ain't Hood]
MTV News recently did a feature on lo fi music. Bands they highlighted include Jay Reatard, Times New Viking, Tyvek, Psychedelic Horseshit, and of course No Age. Download a related, free mixtape HERE or just listen to the muxtape. Watch the MTV News video below.

Lots of other people have recorded and released No Age video too. You can watch No Age play in Other Music, watch them play ping pong with Vice, watch them play in Juan's Basement for Pitchfork TV, watch them play in that vegan food store, and watch them in their practice space. They also played in Amoeba Records and those videos are below (along with the MTV one).....

Anyone know what time High Places will be on?

Posted by Anonymous | May 6, 2008 4:47 PM

Dog Years is such a great track.

they don't let meat-eaters in at their concerts, so hit white castle AFTER the show cuz their vegan Schutzstaffel can smell the grease on you...

Posted by hoobajoob junior | May 6, 2008 5:07 PM

why are crappy bands like vivian girls and love is all on this compilation when the masters of the lo-fi rock greatness 'sic alps' dont make an appearance. and they've been at it for twice as long as these newbies. this compilation clearly has some problems.

no age sound to me like a lost empty records 7" that never made full length. its 90s pop punk spruced up for the noise crowd. i dont get it.

Posted by Anonymous | May 6, 2008 5:11 PM

dog years is one of the best this year....that Eat Skull song rocks too

Posted by Anonymous | May 6, 2008 6:45 PM

no age were really good last night at the bowery

Posted by Anonymous | May 7, 2008 7:34 AM

At work so can't listen but what does this band sound like? Is "Lo Fi" just an excuse for a crappy sounding recording with really monotone, dull vocals?

Posted by Anonymous | May 7, 2008 10:05 AM

High Places is boring. It didnt do anything for me.

Posted by nick | May 7, 2008 10:50 AM

No Age, thy name is Hype

Posted by Anonymous | May 7, 2008 11:05 AM

The sound wasn't great at the Bowery show. Which is odd, because I don't think I've ever seen a show there where the sound hasn't been close to perfect.

High Places sound interesting, they just don't have any charisma on stage. Mincing around behind a couple of tables doesn't exactly make for enthralling live viewing. I swear the woman was grating some cheese at one point.

Posted by Anonymous | May 7, 2008 11:25 AM

hype my ass! No Age is far from being overhyped, these guys are legit and rock the hell out at every show. wake up!

Posted by Anonymous | May 7, 2008 11:28 AM

No Age are sloppy live, which i guess is the point. but i thought they were just okay, not great.

High Places are boring live, but the recorded songs are cool.

I agree about the sound, it needed to be much louder.

High Places = great on record, but boring as hell live!

Posted by Anonymous | May 7, 2008 11:59 AM

the crowd made the show. like the drummer said, it was like a Todd P show, except at Bowery.

the sound was weird but it was a great time. Lots of crazy crowd surfing girls for sure.

did no age dedicate a song to the charles bronson/the oath singer? or was that just me who heard that?

Posted by Anonymous | May 7, 2008 12:42 PM

steve buscemi was there in the back.

also if your nit picking about no age being sloppy chances are you were prolly standing completely still in the back.

Posted by Anonymous | May 7, 2008 1:00 PM

so what are the chances no age never plays bowery again after the todd p comments?

very likely

Posted by Anonymous | May 7, 2008 1:00 PM

of course steve buscemi was there. his son played. good dad.

i LOVE beth murphy...when i first hear TNV i didnt get/feel it...then when i saw em live down here in ATL at the eyedrum i lost it...psychedelic horsshit opened up and they were a great sloppy drunk band but TNV just killed...their songs are really catchy and the tone of Jareds guitar is amazing...some bands are supposed to be witnessed live and some are better on tape, i believe TNV to be a live band... also Jared and Beth were friendly, and we talked about old blues recordings...i sure am lucky to be down in Atlanta although Philly and New York get a ridiculous amount of good shows...

Posted by shitbreak? | May 7, 2008 3:40 PM

TNV - awesome

No Age - really?

Posted by Anonymous | May 9, 2008 12:33 AM

Bands like TNV have no idea how difficult it really is to make a record with the "commercial" sheen that they so quickly dismiss. "We could have autotuned" ... oh shut up. How many of these hipster fucks understand the art of proper recording technique, engineering, mixing, and psychoacoustics?
