ratatat sucks,, nobody buy any tickets for this when they go on sale please. i think jack johnson and kenny G are opening for these fools. its sure to be a shitty time so nobody buy tickets.

you'd think after two records people would get sick of their schtick.

I tried pretty hard to like these guys, but I just don't.

thanks for letting us know... i'm sure we'll all miss you guys at the show then.

I have no respect for them after the way they handled opening for Goldfrapp @ Roseland.

^^
Care to elaborate for those of us who weren't there?

Posted by Anonymous | May 28, 2008 10:22 AM

^^
they stood in the middle of the stage behind a small table, playing songs from cds and mp3s from an ipod. they seemed to have made no effort in preparing for this show, as their blase attitude and chatting to each other showed. one of them even either took or made a cell phone call in an obvious way on stage. their 'set' lasted about an hour, but the crowd definitely responded to a bunch of these things and started booing them about 30 mins into it.

APW PWNED

yeah that was lame. so was their show at bowery. i had more fun watching my friend play guitar hero last night.

What made that Ratatat appearance w/ Goldfrapp so disappointing was:
1. it showed no respect for the audience who came to see them
2. it showed no respect for the opportunity to open for a band like Goldfrapp

Their mixtapes are hot. Their own material is rather tedious. I don't know what this adds up to.

i really liked this band. their sound was very fresh when it came out. and their followup was more good stuff - similar but good. i really hope they took the 3rd record to new places and didnt just tweak the formula. i havent listened to their stuff in awhile.

as for the roseland show - that pisses me off. i wasnt there but that is ridiculous. i saw them at bowery and it was actually a good show. i mean they went up there and shredded out their songs. but it was quite obvious they were quite used to all the attention and being fawned over rock stars. dont give me any of that "oh you dont understand the pressure and tedious time on the road man." i dont give a fuck. get excited and entertain me.

all you guys suck. you dont know how to listen to good music. all the whining saying its "too long" and other stuff.

but it's your loss. i'll go listen to them with other fans.

and have a kick ass time.

it'll be rad!

Posted by ryan | May 28, 2008 11:27 PM

why are all you goldfrapp fans writing about stuff you don't like. i thought goldfrapp was fucking whiny and boring, so it's no wonder the fans are twice as whiny. get a life and get some taste. these guys are one of the most rad bands i have ever seen live. and the predator video for mirando is totally beautiful. i WILL be going to one of their shows definitely... from ratatat SUPERFAN.

they were pretty good at the guggenheim a couple of years back, which is pretty impressive since those parties have sucked major balls for the last 3 years at least.

Posted by aukenbals | May 29, 2008 8:46 AM

i realllllly hope they continue making their style of music, but i want to see it evolve. hopefully in will reinvigorate their live shows as well.

Dudes, this whole posting on a Ratatat tour flyer page that you hate Ratatat is very uncool. No only is it uncool to hate on other people's musical taste when both Ratatat and Goldfrapp are good bands in their own right, but it is also very uncool to be an asshole. Check it.

good albums, close to worst live show ive ever seen. boring, like watching guitar karaoke.

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2008 1:50 PM

Anonymous 6:48- I doubt you were at the show mentioned because this was Goldfrapp's Supernature tour, which highlighted their electro club songs, not their more subdued Seventh Tree tour (which is a world apart).

Wow, yal are harshing on them so much. One of the best shows I have seen in NYC was the Bowery Show from a couple years ago. It says something to sell out the Williamsburg show in hours. I'll will be there for sure.

Those hating on Ratatat just don't get them - and that's cool...those of us who do will have another BADASS time at the concert. Seriously, they rank up there with Daft Punk as one of the best live shows I've seen.
