I can't believe people are buying into this whole Robyn thing. I remember when her first album came out, and that was boring shite R&B. Now she rips off that equally lame lady sov and MIA vibe, and she's suddenly cool. Best thing is, she's got that same stupid haircut. Fuck that.

I was at Robyn's show on friday...and I have to say that it's one of the best shows I've been to. She's so talented, smart, and sexy. Robyn is the Queen!!!!!!

My god! have you even heard her stuff? It's is pure pop genius. Lighten up, please. Be happy, dance a little.

the album came out almost three years ago, around the same time as MIA and lady sov. so how exactly is she ripping them off?

on a side note, people actually remember lady sov?? that was a marketing experiment gone awfully wrong.

She was a great performer. Very courteous to the audience and her fellow band mates. She was having a great time and they were very tight.

Good, fun stuff.

>Robyn = Hot + Sweet

no. robyn = i'll take pop stars never heard of after 2008 for $400, alex.

Posted by Anonymous | May 5, 2008 4:30 PM

seriously, she's terrible. please open your eyes & ears. if that fails, google her first record. thank you.

Posted by Anonymous | May 5, 2008 4:59 PM

^^^You're wrong. She's good. She was great in Boston the other night. End of story.

Posted by Anonymous | May 5, 2008 5:23 PM

Oh God, she's horrible. Of course, I have to weigh in on the meaningless comments section. But I am convinced that Robyn is a man.

Posted by Anonymous | May 5, 2008 5:32 PM

I saw a video for Konichiwa (sp?) Bitches and I can't believe what crap it was.

Posted by Anonymous | May 5, 2008 5:39 PM

^^ "But I am convinced that Robyn is a man."

meaningless comment, indeed, 5:32

Posted by Anonymous | May 5, 2008 5:48 PM

Why is there 1 indie-rock lover that spams the robyn threads with negative comments every frikkin time. I'd guess people think she's interesting, cuz no1 cares about MIA or Lady sov.

4:59, are artists no longer allowed to grow between albums? she was making disposable pop ten years ago. she has since begun to make pop of a rather more substantial nature. what's the big deal?

I like Robyn. I like the music she puts out. I think the fact that she still performs songs like "Show Me Love" and "Keep This Fire Burning" makes her a lot better than other pop artists who don't hesitate to spit on the work they promoted and got people to buy in years past.

And yes, she put on an amazing show.

^ like the beatles! they were poptastic in the beginning and went on to...um, well, be a different kinda pop band i guess.

Posted by Anonymous | May 5, 2008 7:11 PM

so 1992.

Posted by Anonymous | May 6, 2008 3:31 AM

Anon. 5/5 7:11 PM, the work you're looking for is 'revolutionary'.

And screw you, KT, that doesn't make Robyn better (or worse), just different. (And I say this as a Beatles fan who enjoys hearing many of The Beatles' earlier songs performed live by a capable band.)

Posted by Anonymous | May 6, 2008 8:17 AM

she's kind of a butter face. hot body. kind of looks like a porn star.

Posted by anon | May 6, 2008 9:29 AM

I love those bear heads. The wacky randomness appeals to my demographic. As do her porn star looks and coy schoolgirl innocence. Marketability of the slut/prude extra value meal is hot and getting hotter. If there's something the Robyn package doesn't offer consumers, I don't know what it is.

:: spit take :: wait, did someone here call Robyn an 'artist'?

Posted by greg | May 6, 2008 1:16 PM

Haters, say what you will about Robyn but this girl knows how to put on a show. I saw her in Philly last week and she puts every stuck up indie rock show you covet to shame.

Posted by Anonymous | May 6, 2008 11:21 PM

She is interesting enough. I have to check out her cd to see if she is serious. :)
