Sasquatch 2008 - day 3 in pictures (Monday May 26)
photos by Chris Graham
Michael Showalter & the gorge, Sasquatch 2008

Michael Showalter was at Sasquatch last year too. More pictures from Monday (day three of Sasquatch) below....
The Hives...

The Hives put on the ultimate rock and roll show, with all the pomp and circumstance and craziness of a supergroup. As they're known to do, lead guitarist Nicholaus Arson went nuts on stage and lead singer Pelle Almqvist jumped onto amps and surrounding railing. It was one of the most fun sets to watch of the whole festival, and according to Almqvist if it had gotten any better The Gorge would've collapsed.Built to Spill....Sadly, Built to Spill sounded great but were boring to watch; even lead singer and guitarist Doug Martsch looked a little bored at times. Say Hi...

Rodrigo Y Gabriela....

Kay Kay & His Weathered Underground...

Battles....

Flight of the Conchords...

Familiar to HBO viewers from the quirky, compelling television series of the same title, Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie arrive to greet massively applauding fans. After an extended intro to take care of set-up and tuning, they orient newbies to their act: singing, talking, and telling jokes; all the while pondering whether they are actually a band (yes) and just how many blowjobs they've gotten backstage (at least 47). This leads them right into the much more funny than sexy "Business Time." I spend the rest of their charming set half listening from a distance in the company of a refreshing adult beverage. [KEXP]
Kinski...

Jamie Lidell...

More Flaming Lips shots from later the same day are HERE (NSFW).
The Mars Volta played this day too, and those pictures are HERE.
Photos from day one HERE.
Photos from day two coming soon!

Of course Built to Spill is boring, compared to the full-on garage rock onslaught that is THE HIVES, Ladies and Gentlemen!

I bet Showalter figured, "Hey, since those chicks don't shave their pussies, I ain't gonna shave my face."

Hey 1:02AM, that first comment is in reference not to Doug Martsch, but to the only thing Michael Showalter will ever be remembered for, his character Doug from The State. And rightfully so. I'm outta heeeere.
