fuck, and sold out
Posted by wes | May 6, 2008 4:51 PM
Keep hitting refresh - says sold out & then more tickets become available. Thanks BV!
Posted by Anonymous | May 6, 2008 4:52 PM
Tickets still available now - hit refresh. I bought three - if friends can't go, will try to figure out how to let people here know about the extra tickets.
Posted by Anonymous | May 6, 2008 4:54 PM
Anyone know where these tickets will be? Is the floor seated or standing?
Posted by Anonymous | May 6, 2008 5:06 PM
on the website it shows the ballroom with our without seats . . .
Posted by Anonymous | May 6, 2008 5:09 PM
bowery says tickets are 40-50 and priced by section. since these were 50, and from sigur ros directly, im assuming these are gonna be the best tickets available, as in front rows.
Posted by Anonymous | May 6, 2008 5:10 PM
oops i mean with OR without seats
Posted by Anonymous | May 6, 2008 5:10 PM
and yeah, it's all seated
Posted by Anonymous | May 6, 2008 5:10 PM
I think the only time SR played a standing venue in NYC was their first show. Everything else in the past 7 years has been seated.
Grand Ballroom has seating, but I don't remember if it is all the time. The only time I went was 11-12 years ago.
Posted by Anonymous | May 6, 2008 5:11 PM
Ticket confirmation says "Reserved seat", but nothing about Row or Seat number.
Posted by nyctaper | May 6, 2008 5:12 PM
the site says:
Reserved seats in sections, Floor 1 - 4.
Grand Ballroom, 311 W. 34th st, NYC.
Doors open at 7pm.

Is just the presale sold out or is the entire show sold out already?
Posted by Anonymous | May 6, 2008 5:51 PM
i'm assuming presale, general public sale is on thursday at noon, but i think these tickets were the best ones held aside for the presale.. or let's hope so!

to anon 452 n 454 - i owe you drinks! i also hit refresh for like 10 minutes & was able to get 2 tickets. just wondering - does anyone else get a bit overwhelmed with emotion & weepy during their live sets?
Posted by chilled monkey brains | May 7, 2008 9:51 AM
Sold out already at 12:01!
Posted by Anonymous | May 8, 2008 11:57 AM
i had been freaking out about being overseas when tickets went on sale & asked a friend & my husband to try for tickets. turns out they weren´t able to pull up anything and i pulled up 2 for the floor on the first try. i guess it must be a good thing i´m trying from spain and not new york.
Posted by Anonymous | May 8, 2008 12:10 PM
i am pissed off. now they're going for over $100 from all the people who buy them for $40-$50 and then resell them online.
Posted by Becca | May 8, 2008 12:14 PM
Something is clearly up with Ticketmaster. I was on at 12:00 and saw error messages until 12:25. Also called and got a message saying there were "technical difficulties". I was transferred to someone only to be disconnected, called back and was told it sold out.
The fact that there are so many on Ebay suggests to me that it is ridiculously easy to have an automated system buying tickets (perhaps somehow even connected with Ticketmaster) and then post them on Ebay. I generally don't believe in conspiracy theories but this is assinine.

And 50% of the security words you have to type in are completely illegible.
Posted by Michael | May 8, 2008 12:25 PM
Is there any chance of getting $40 or $50 tickets anymore? Do tickets go back on sale sometimes at Ticketmaster?
Posted by Anonymous | May 8, 2008 12:25 PM
oh, i am sure there are a good deal on stub hub too. for the camden radiohead show i wasnt able to pull up anything but lawn yet there were over 400 tickets on stubhub later that day. i would check the messageboard over at the sigur ros website for spares
Posted by Anonymous | May 8, 2008 12:53 PM
holy moly tickets are expensive. last time they came, I paid $40 and it was at a nicer venue. dropping nearly $75 was hard to do. ouch my wallet.
