Tegan & Sara @ Terminal 5, NYC (pics) ++ new record coming

photos by Bao Nguyen

Tegan and Sara @ Terminal 5

When their touring dates are finished, Sara jokes that their summer will contain "beverages and bikinis," but in truth, they will be hard at work on other projects. "Tegan and I are both writing furiously for the next record," she says. "I have always felt like I was squeezing songs out of me slowly, but lately I've been writing a lot. We recently played a show with Death Cab For Cutie, where we talked with [guitarist/producer] Chris Walla who worked on our last record. We're pretty much signed up to work on our next record with him again." [Spinner]
Speaking of Death Cab For Cutie (and Spinner), their new album is out today and streaming at Spinner.

Tegan and Sara played a sold out show at Terminal 5 in NYC last night (May 12, 2008). More tour dates HERE. More pictures from the show below....

Does anyone know the name of the opening band? They were great!

Tegs and Sar were awesome. I don't know why they would be nervous about playing NY.

You don't know why a band would be nervous about playing the biggest city in America? Really?

I LOVED An Horse! Does anyone have any photos of them?

Posted by Anonymous | May 13, 2008 11:12 AM

No sI live in this city so I know how large and important it is. It's that they are so good, and it's a sold out show. If I were them my confidence would be pretty high at this point. Geez, can you be more condescending. Snob.

Posted by Nicole | May 13, 2008 11:13 AM

I think they were nervous because they're not that good and are insecure about their success and popularity.

Posted by Anonymous | May 13, 2008 11:44 AM

let's hope they both suffer nervous breakdowns and we never have to hear another shitty tegan & sara song. completely unlistenable.

i think they're just worried that incredibly fickle lesbian audience is going to jump ship and start following around the next big lesbian twin sister band.
