I don't know anything about this band, but Fluxblog is usually meticulously accurate. He posts setlists of the Fiery Furnaces which are completely accurate, and he doesn't have the recording to work off like I do. They are one of the toughest bands around for which to get an accurate setlist, so his notes must be excellent.

Why were the fire marshal's at Webster Hall? I was there last night and it was funny when they came on the stage while The Kills were performing to shut the place down briefly.

I really like Telepathe's music but they need to work on their live shows. They always look really nervous on stage, especially the singer. It makes it really hard to enjoy. Pity.

Don't worry, they were very nearly booed off the stage. Contextualizing their sad-sack performance burlesque and ironic suddenly made it slightly more palatable, but just a smidge. AND OMG those song titles are way more enticing than their actual songs.

just checked them out. pretty dull.

I walked in mid-set for Telepathe and they were absolutely awful. Some dude was booing them in the back. And The Kills were cool but I could have done without Alison dressing and acting like Steven Tyler . Also the whole part where she made her "sexy rock star" face and threw a leg up on the speaker and just stared at the crown for 45 second was pretty stupid. Other than that and the weird fire thing (I thought the fireman was a stipper at first...) it was definitely something to see.

They have some good songs. They just need to learn how to perform them, it seems.. maybe a few months of touring will do them good, if anybody still goes to their shows after all these awful reviews.

They used to be a pretty decent band but now they're whole thing is "not being a band" and just having a laptop. So maybe their songs are still pretty tight (I've heard the new record, it is good) but fuck, they aren't good live.
