We Are Scientists - new album (streaming), 2008 Tour Dates
We Are Scientists (with now just two permanent members) came out with a new album this week (I know, nobody cares...). "Brain Thrust Mastery" is streaming at Spinner....
as far as mainstream pop-rock records go, Brain Thrust Mastery occasionally gets the job done. Lead single "After Hours" bops along like the second single Jimmy Eat World's Chase This Light sorely lacked, while the dramatic "Tonight" finally makes good use of their Korgs. Both are good enough to make you marginally interested in what We Are Scientists will do next, at best. Those who fail to learn from Hot Hot Heat are doomed to repeat them. [Pitchfork]Definitely lots of 80's going on too. Tickets are now on sale for two upcoming NYC shows. All dates and their new video below....

It cracks me up that the editor of this site thinks "hmmm, new album news, should probably include the Pitchfork review."

"now just two permanent members" = ex-members releasing solo albums under the moniker 'I Was A Scientist'

Big in the UK, eh? Is that why Dude shaved his mustache? To give the NME something juicy to talk about?
