after seeing so many good shows recently at smaller venues, tonight's the first time i'm using the mostly legit "webster hall sucks" excuse to not see a show there. dang.

An article from tomorrow's NY Times about young hipsters who live in NYC and don't make a lot of money (by NYC standards): http://www.nytimes.com/2008/05/25/nyregion/25scrimp.html
Discuss.

that article is so sad but that's how everybody lives i guess. as i read it i felt myself blaming the victims for choosing to live in williamsburg and the village, which i know is totally unfair.
also, street meat is bad for you. this city oughta outlaw it. street meat prays on people who are pressed for cash or time and punishes them with heart disease and worse. street meat is a cancer and this city needs chemotherapy. even falafel, which isn't meat, is soaked in oil and fried. ugh.

is that article true of most post-college 20-somethings living in the "hip" areas of the city?
i hope bv makes a separate post of it.

i guess that article is spot on but dont make yourself look like some victim just because you cant afford to go out drinking with your friends.
