Memorial Day is a day of rememberance..... a day to remember that every band on every bill at every show should be worth every minute of your time. Monday's show at the Knitting Factory in NYC (tonight - May 26) is one of those rare heavy shows, featuring co-headliners The Ocean and Kylesa, as well Lair Of The Minotaur and Withered. Tickets are still available.

Withered will open the show, touring to road-test some blackened crusty weight from their new Prosthetic debut Folie Circulaire, their first since the critically acclaimed 2005 LP Memento Mori. Mastered by Scott Hull and featuring Barney Greenway of Napalm Death, we've got the the track "The Fated Breath" for you to download above, and you can preview even more Folie Circulaire goodness at their myspace....

Folie Circulaire was recorded by one Philip Cope of Kylesa fame, who is currently at work on the new album, the follow-up to 2005's Time Will Fuse It's Worth. Laura from Kylesa recently revealed her most prized pieces of vinyl to Deciblog.

The Ocean and their XXXL tour bus (they have a string section, three guitar players, and two bass players among others) are at the top of the marquee, in large part due to the fact that the Knitting Factory marks their first trip to NYC on their first North American tour! The Ocean released Precambrian last year.

And what heavy music fan could pass up the axe-wielding madmen of Lair Of The Minotaur? Their new album, War Metal Battle Master is out NOW on Southern Lord. If you missed it, check out the very NSFW video for "War Metal Battle Master" below.

Dear Black Bubblegum --

I just wanted to say thanks for posting these sort of thing. Seriously. I've found out about tons of cool stuff I would have missed out on (like this) if it weren't for you posting it.

Thanks!
