Posted by Anonymous | June 30, 2008 4:58 PM

not to wax nostalgic but I remember when this band just made t-shirts and didn't really play a lot of shows

"haha I have a lot of money on this girl's parents being really, really rich."

Posted by Anonymous | June 30, 2008 6:08 PM

this video sucks, they ruled @ Studio B tho!

Posted by Anonymous | June 30, 2008 6:10 PM

I don't get it. what is so bad about this? it is just typical crystal castles performance yeah? I know some people who like it, whatever

Posted by Anonymous | June 30, 2008 6:14 PM

hmmm... wondering if they're using a live drummer now because of the drum samples they used before...

Posted by Anonymous | June 30, 2008 6:18 PM

terrible music

Posted by Anonymous | June 30, 2008 6:25 PM

strawberry shortcake where are you when we need you most?!

Posted by Anonymous | June 30, 2008 7:27 PM

I wasn't wondering what all the fuss was about...but I am now.

Posted by Anonymous | June 30, 2008 7:30 PM

Oh, I get it, they're like the Yeah Yeah Yeahs but without any talent.

Posted by Anonymous | June 30, 2008 7:32 PM

terrible

Posted by Anonymous | June 30, 2008 7:40 PM

This show really didn't impress me. They've been much better.

Posted by Poops4love | June 30, 2008 7:48 PM

that was not good.

Posted by Anonymous | June 30, 2008 7:53 PM

Avril Lavigne now has Down Syndrome?

Posted by Anonymous | June 30, 2008 8:18 PM

her vox are too loud, and the stage is too big. not arena rock appropriate.

Posted by Anonymous | June 30, 2008 8:46 PM

I'd hit it, but then immediately quit it.

Posted by Diamond Jack Beanpole | June 30, 2008 9:00 PM

the yeah yeah yeahs are talented?

Posted by Anonymous | June 30, 2008 9:06 PM

^^ ha. thank you. as i read the aforementioned statement, i was going to respond and say the exact same thing. thank you.

Posted by Anonymous | June 30, 2008 9:34 PM

crystal castles are a lame knockoff of the chiptune scene.

Posted by steffi | June 30, 2008 9:44 PM

yeah yeah yeahs are CRAZY talented

Posted by saywha | June 30, 2008 9:56 PM

^ um, no. look, saywha, if you wanna hang out in the bathroom with pictures ofk karen-o and get your rocks off, then knock yourself out because she's absolutely hot. but as far as the band being CRAZY talented, you should get your dick out of your brain. 'cause they ain't.

Posted by Anonymous | June 30, 2008 10:07 PM

"chiptune scene" lol

Posted by Anonymous | June 30, 2008 10:21 PM

I don't really care about all the fuss...but, where can I get tickets to the "Queue Here To Complain Festival" ?

Posted by Anonymous | June 30, 2008 10:36 PM

why the fuck are security dudes holding her?? when I saw them in philly she was all out in the crowd.

also, I don't get why they don't use effects on her vocals like on the record.

Posted by Anonymous | June 30, 2008 11:02 PM

i don't really "lose" respect for people if their opinions of bands don't match mine, but to say the yyys are not talented, TALENT, not enjoyment, is silly and ignorant.

Posted by Anonymous | June 30, 2008 11:48 PM

wait, this isn't a real band. this is just a girl screaming over lcd soundsystem's tribulations. performance art?

Posted by Anonymous | June 30, 2008 11:50 PM

This is the worst CRAP....how can you even feature them on your front page. Is this trendy? Are they what is supposed to be cool....

Whoever likes this "band" in your editorial staff should shoot themselves in the head!

Posted by guswash | July 1, 2008 12:06 AM

we are in a post-band world

Posted by Anonymous | July 1, 2008 12:09 AM

Wow. Republica's back. And just when you thought they couldn't get any more talentless.

Posted by ag | July 1, 2008 12:37 AM

How can anyone say Reckless is a bad song?

Posted by Anonymous | July 1, 2008 1:19 AM

that CC dude is cramping Jesse Keeler's style SO fucking badly.

Posted by Anonymous | July 1, 2008 1:47 AM

i was there and thought the atmosphere was really good, what happened though? she went off stage to stumble and be sick after 25 minutes!!!!

Posted by michelle | July 1, 2008 5:12 AM

I was at Glastonbury for her performance, nothing too special. When she got pulled off I just thought it was due to her none conformist tantrums getting old.

Posted by Anonymous | July 1, 2008 5:46 AM

How on earth are crystal castles like the YYYs? Because they're fronted by a dark haired female? The two bands sound nothing alike.

Posted by Anonymous | July 1, 2008 5:54 AM

ewww gross.
i'll take karen O's stage antics any day over this

Posted by Anonymous | July 1, 2008 7:29 AM

who the freak doesn't like Republica????

Posted by Anonymous | July 1, 2008 10:45 AM

Yeah, "chiptune scene."

Blipfest in NYC is great.

Posted by naj | July 1, 2008 11:07 AM

those fuckers pulled their videos again. they fucked up my youtube account as well. Crystal Castles has to learn who is buttering their bread, they keep going like this they will alienate their fans.

Posted by Anonymous | July 1, 2008 11:19 AM

next-generation mall-rock garbage...next please

Posted by Anonymous | July 1, 2008 11:38 AM

It's not the band that takes the vids down, it's one of their many labels who doesn't understand how the internet works.

Posted by Ajax Comments | July 1, 2008 12:01 PM

yea but the labels understand how copyright laws work...the vids were probably taken down due to the CC's arrogant copyright-infringing ways

Posted by Anonymous | July 1, 2008 12:07 PM

Man the lil' suburban Toronto "vocalist" is like soooooooo CRAZY! She must be messed up in the head because she is sooooooo CRAZY!!!!!

Videos like this are pulled because the general public recognizes the full-on god awfulness of this complete and total shit, and the label would rather avoid a avalanche of comments that speak the truth of this "band"

Posted by Anonymous | July 1, 2008 12:11 PM

You people are fucking dickheads who are just searching for a reason to be negative. You're all probably suburban transplants to NY and think that because you lived in Williamsburg 2 years ago your choice of music and style is all that matters.. Well listen to me, just quit your bitching and go get your boss that latte he asked for like a good little admin.

Then on your trip to Starbucks, understand that despite what you think, people enjoy Crystal Castles..

Go listen to Kayne...

Suburban Transplants for Crystal Castles...HIP-HIP-HOORAY!

Posted by Anonymous | July 1, 2008 1:12 PM

Republica comparison = genius.

Posted by Anonymous | July 1, 2008 1:13 PM

Nice call 12:56. Some Northern envy on this board, perhaps?

Last time I checked, Toronto wasn't suburban. It's a big, awesome city that hasn't been overrun with posers yet: well, not completely anyway.

Seriously, the transplant chant is starting to get tiresome.

Posted by Mark B. | July 1, 2008 1:19 PM

wow, yer just really stupid

Posted by Anonymous | July 1, 2008 1:27 PM

That's a brilliant retort, 1:27.

Posted by Mark B. | July 1, 2008 1:32 PM

will someone please explain the animosity toward people who move to NYC (Midwest, South, suburbs, Jersey etc.)? Can you only have good taste in music if you were born in the city? Is the city currently at capacity? I don't live in new york, so you'll have to excuse my ignorance.

Posted by Anonymous | July 1, 2008 2:04 PM

LULZ @ the CC Defense Force

Posted by Anonymous | July 1, 2008 2:22 PM

C & C Music Factory

everybody dance now!

Posted by Anonymous | July 1, 2008 2:30 PM

DJ freind of mine told me once that you can tell the transplants from the natives, at least the Bridge and Tunnel natives, by playing playing Bon Jovi's Livin on a Prayer when the crwod energy is low. The B&T's will get that mofo party STARTED once they hear that shit. Transplants, he said, are an ecclectic mix.

Posted by Anonymous | July 1, 2008 2:44 PM

you are in a fuckin post-ban world

Posted by corey | July 1, 2008 3:18 PM

why did you take the d off of my band? WTF???

on another tip, i thought everybody was a transplant to NYC

Posted by corey | July 1, 2008 3:22 PM

if a first you dont succeed in a real band, try try the computer!
anyway, think i could use kill cheerleader for my band name? maybe bikini kill, that sounds cool!

Posted by corey | July 1, 2008 3:25 PM

ok future/primitive management? who the fuck are they? they fucked with everyones Crystal Castles youtubes, I tried to find out info and nothing. they are not listed as Crystal Castles management according to CC myspace, and if you google this nothing comes up. anybody knows?

Posted by Anonymous | July 1, 2008 3:38 PM

crystal castles are amazing live!
hasn't anyone heard of thrash?
so glad you all are educated in music...
beats a guy in a plastic ball who sings with trashy naked girls on stage. cause that's just lame!

Posted by Anonymous | July 1, 2008 6:57 PM

I saw em at that gig and they rocked it man,,, pretty fucking talented and original. You're meant to listen to a band not compare them who other bands that have similar looking lead singers.
If you want to see a decent copy of the gig check out the BBC webshite and keep you whiney judgements to yourselves bitches!

Posted by MookLoxley | July 2, 2008 2:37 PM

I would like to say, from a completely neutral standpoint:

FIRSTLY: If you don't like CC, that's fine, but don't go laying into people who do. Grow up and get over it, you Nazis.

SECONDLY: There are several very backwards people on here who are criticising CC's use of computers. Using a computer to make music is not "cheating". Technology is the next frontier in artistic expression. While CCs endeavors may produce some occasionally flimsy results, they are, at least, forward-thinking musicians.

FINALLY: I was actually THERE. And, whether or not it comes across in the video, it was pretty intense, and a hell of a lot of fun. That's really all that matters, isn't it?

Posted by Anonymous | July 4, 2008 5:21 PM

Someone has removed the vids.Someone re-up them please,or better the whole show.
