I won a pair and they sent out a second email shortly after the first saying that the show is actually on June 23rd...fyi...

I got a pair, though I probably won't go. I'm pretty sure everyone who entered will get tickets. MSG is large.

I'm not convinced that those "people" are legit. There is not talk of this @ the coldplay message boards. Only place I have seen people claiming to have tix is here. And emails re: tix weren't supposed to go out until Thursday. BV - did YOU win tix? Did you get that email above? Or did you just see that posted somewhere?

It is legit...my co-worker and I both got emails that we won this morning.

I got the "You're a Coldplay Concert Ticket Winner" email yesterday and registered my info. Yes, I got two emails, one stating a 6/24 date and then a 6/23 corrected date. Im sure there is no big deal.

They said confirmations will go out around 6/6 and shipping info on 6/10.

AND people are complaining about 'bad seats' - its at the WAMU THEATER @ MSG! There aren't any bad seats (only holds like 3000 persons)

Funny thing, I saw Coldplay for free in the theater a few years back. The only shows I see at MSG are free Coldplay shows.

I just bought two tickets for this show on Ebay for $75 each. I think that is a fair price (even though they were free) since they are $100 in Philly, Hartford, etc. And Ebay will guarantee the ticket delivery just in case the person is not legit.

This contest would have been better if it was at a GA venue, I have a terrible feeling alot of people will be disappointed when they find out their seat location is in the 400s/300s.

By the way, I read on a Coldplay fan site that the email says something about how the tickets cannot be scalped - maybe you need the id of the person who won to get in? That doesn't make sense to me, because you could give away the tickets. Does that mean if someone's mom won & gave them the tix, they won't be able to get in? I wanted to buy some but I'm not sure now if I can get in with those...

well i guess i can officially be sad now. i was holding out until today to see if i'd get an email (since they did say it was 6/5 that everyone would be notified) but NADA! i just really hope they come back around to NY at some point on their tour.

this contest was handled badly because I am aware of a few people who entered the competition using multiple e-mail addresses, and those who wish not to attend the event and yet won. So if those tickets cannot be scalped I wonder what will happen to em.....

i agree! they should've stated the contest rules more clearly. in any case, i hope that those that don't want to go and/or aren't able to transfer their tickets have to give them up. it would suck to see them scalped on craigslist. totally defeats the purpose of what the band's doing. hopefully they'll have to relinquish them and they'll release extra tickets to us losers...ahem! ticket hopefuls. :)

I see what Coldplay's trying to do, and appreciate that they want to give back to the fans in this manner, I really do... but wow...at the same time it looks like they're really sticking it to those that didn't win, especially if they're not letting you transfer ownership of the tickets. This is their only show at MSG, and they don't come back to the area until the end of October.

I got an email this morning that my tickets shipped...It comes with a tracking number from Music Today.

I won tickets and did the register thing and never git a confermation e-mail. I called their twice and they are very unresponsive and have no clue whats going on. They told me to re-apply and i did, still nothing. Have people not recieved tickets yet also?

You cannot enter this contest anymore. It ended in May. (there is nothing for you to enter on the coldplay website anymore) The only people who will recieve an e-mail are the people who won.

They are saying they can tell the purchaser's name just by looking at the ticket. Does anyone see anything that has a code or something? I can't see anything on my tix/bracelet that contain identifying info....

I also am supposed to get tix and haven't gotten them yet. Did they come through the mail or UPS? How many people here got theirs already? I don't get how the ID thing will work if the name is not on the ticket.

As I was commenting a few comments up about me not getting my tix yet. I called their today and I feel like they keep giving me the run around. They say there is a second list of people who are getting their tix shipped out tomorrow. I asked if I was on the list and I was. There are no more tickets left. I spoke with Music today(the company handling the ticketing) (becasue of the issue of me not getting mine even though i had a winning e-mail) and everyone who has not recieved tix will be put on a will call list and you have to wait on the will call line before the show to varify your information. If you havent recieved tix yet i would call there so they put you on the list (1-800-594-tixx) The reason they are not mailing tickes anymore is becasue they might not reach you in time for the show then your out of luck.

I won a pair of tickets, section 304 i believe. it seems legit though i got actual tickets and wrist bands. and you can't sell them because you have to bring your id and probably the letter to prove the tickets are yours, though you can bring anyone you want and make them pay i suppose. ahhh it's on monday, i'm so excited!

i think a lot of people didn't confirm that they could go on the website and that's why they didn't get the tickets in the mail. you wouldn't get them automatically you have to fill out this form and but your address (obviously). and if people are still curious about the scalping the letter with the tickets says "On the night of the show you will be required to wear the wristband and show your ticket for admission. Please keep the wristband on and your ticket with you at all times. We will be checking tickets to verify that ticket hollders are actual ticket owners. (we can tell just by looking at the ticket!) So, YOU MUST BRING A PHOTO ID and keep it with you."

I dunno how they'll actually check it it's your ticket, but to be on the safe side its probably a stupid idea to buy them off someone and risk getting kicked out.

My friend gave me his tickets. The only thing I noticed is at the top of the ticket it says B-MT. His last name starts with a B. Does anyone else see a resemblence in their tickets (with those letters matching with their last names)? Again, those letter are on the top above the word SEAT.

I called 1800594TIXX and the guy I spoke to said there shouldn't be a problem giving away your tickets, but he couldn't garanty it. He told me to call the Garden and see how they're going to handle it, but I keep getting their voicemail.

Names were scanned along with the barcode from the ticket. When scanned and the names do not match the ids, you are out all that money you spent. It is true that there are no names on the tickets, letter or wristbands, but that does not mean the ticket winner's name will not appear when the ticket is scanned.

Call the venue, double check before you spend all that money to people who are conveniently failing to mention that ID is required and who are advertising that they are greedy ("i need the money because i am apartment hunting", "i need a new 80gb ipod" or the simple "i just need the cash".)

Save you money and buy tickets to their NJ shows.

The tickets were free and meant to be free.

I mean i saw coldplay a few times when they first started out and they were good and had some promise but jesus they have become such a bland aor U2 lite piece of crap. The new album is terrible. The lyrics make no sense or follow any kind of logical path. Chris Martin is so full of himself but not in a Bono good kind of way. He cant pull it off.
And ya know what I did not even try to get tickets to this but if you did try and didnt get them and you live in NYC you are an idiot if you ever support this band again.
This is not like the Led Zep one off(for now) show in london. Coldplay are touring everywhere. The fact that they gave tickets to people outside of the city is shameless and disgusting. People in other cities where the band is playing can pay to see the show in their town.
