Hopefully you’re not too worn out from the beginning of the week – there is still a lot of dancing (especially disco) to be done.

Tonight (Friday) there is a Hercules & Love Affair record release party at Le Royale. The guest deejays were announced today and it’s Hearts Revolustion. I saw them perform live at Hiro in March and it was pretty unbearable save for the beats, which will hopefully bode well for their deejay set. In any case, Hercules & Love Affair’s new album (which has been out in the US since Tuesday) is definitely cause for celebration.

Hercules and love affair

10 pm doors. Free with RSVP to [email protected]. Email your name and number of guests. When you arrive, tell the doorperson you are on the GBH Guest List.

A second disco-related option for Friday night – the Down & Derby Roller Disco at Studio B. I can’t say that booze and rollerskating make much sense in my head, but if you can work it out…Anthony Batista, DJ Nugget and Rok One of the Bangers will be dropping old school disco jams so you can do it like they did in the 70’s. Be sure to watch out for this kid!

Studio B

10pm-4pm, 21+. $7 at the door or $5 with RSVP at www.downandderby.org. A limited amount of skates will be available for rental ($3), or bring your own.

If you’re not in the mood for disco, the Trouble & Bass crew will be keeping things nice and bass-heavy with their monthly takeover at Love. Friday’s line-up features UK’s Dub Child headlining along with Night Slugs from London, and Bok Bok & Manara. Expect a great mix covering everything from B-more to Dubstep, all with a UK flavor. There’s some great stuff on Bok Bok & Manara’s myspace page and blog they contribute to, to get you hyped. As always Trouble & Bass residents will also be spinning. Heavy bass champion, Drop the Lime (who’s been busy touring) will even be there! Check out an excellent set he did at Basstown in Boston at the top of this post.
