"iggy's gonna kick the shit outta all you L-train schlepping, hipster fucktards who've relocated to bklyn from such exotic locations as the Deep South and Midwest"
To this I say:
"Iggy Pop was born in Muskegon, Michigan to James Newell Österberg, Sr., a former high school English teacher and baseball coach at Fordson High School in Dearborn, Michigan, and Louella Christensen.[4] Osterberg was raised in a trailer park in Ypsilanti, Michigan" -wikipedia

9:05 is worse than the fucktards he's complaining about.
get laid dude...it feels better than bashing on a music site.
Posted by Anonymous | June 10, 2008 10:27 PM
yeah...NOW I think michigan is cool.

YOUR BAD ODOR SMELLS LIKE PLANT LIFE AND MY WATER TASTES LIKE CEMENT. HAVE YOU EVER WALKED BLEECKER STREET IN A RAIN STORM WITH A BROKEN UMBRELLA AND THE STROKES IN YOUR POCKET? I HAD A PURPLE SHINY MACINTOSH ONCE BUT I LOST IT IN THE MCDONALDS OFF BROADWAY AND WAVERLY. I LOVED HER IN THE 10TH GRADE AS SHE TACKLED ME TO THE GROUND AT CITY HALL PARK. THE AIR WAS LOVE AND THE GRASS WAS A SHOWER.

9:05. You are out of line.
(and I don't live in williamsburg!)
Posted by Anonymous | June 10, 2008 11:58 PM
hey 1054p,
i found your purple mac at that mcd's if you want it back..
Posted by Anonymous | June 11, 2008 12:10 AM
11:58. You are a pansy.
(and pansies aren't invited to Stooges shows!)
Posted by Anonymous | June 11, 2008 12:26 AM
i remember when iggy said fascism was cool, back in the 80s. he was also a reagan fan, if i remember correctly. so punk. that, or just way too much cocaine.

Man, that "only East Coast appearance again.. ever" Jones Beach reunion show was...
Posted by Anonymous | June 11, 2008 1:28 AM
I'm from Missouri, but now live in Williamsburg. Can I not attend this show? Just checking
Posted by Eric | June 11, 2008 10:03 AM
Sorry Eric you can't. Only people raised in NYC or brooklyn are allowed to attend the show. How dare you move up north.
Posted by Anonymous | June 11, 2008 10:09 AM
There is a pre-sale on www.iggypop.com today- I just ordered my tickets!

10:09:
Brooklyn is in NYC shmuck. Only a person who doesn't come from NYC would say 'NYC or Brooklyn'. Therefore you have exposed yourself as an outsider posing as a native being sarcastic to another outsider.
Posted by Anonymous | June 11, 2008 10:46 AM
they'll add another show
Posted by Anonymous | June 11, 2008 1:09 PM
10:46 what??!! I think you got it backwards. I live in New York is ok, but I would never say I live in "New York City" unless I actually lived in Manhattan, or "the city". If I live in Brooklyn or Queens and I say Im going to "the city"
Posted by Anonymous | June 11, 2008 1:24 PM
cool - same night as Radiohead - but sooooooo much cheaper - plus you get radiohead on another night right after, so the best of both worlds!
APW pwned
Posted by Anonymous | June 11, 2008 1:49 PM
Iggy on Friday, Radiohead Saturday, and Dylan on Tuesday. Best news ever.
Posted by Anonymous | June 10, 2008 10:47 PM
My thoughts exactly!
(and who gives a fuck on where someone is from in NYC - that is the reason I moved slightly away, NYC (Brooklyn included) is full of poser babies who think their shit don't stink.
Posted by Anonymous | June 11, 2008 1:51 PM
wtf
neither of you idiots are from nyc are you?
i grew up in brooklyn and if someone asks me where i come from i say new york city to differentiate from Poughkeepsie or wherever the fuck.
nyc or brooklyn doesn't really make sense and i can't picture someone from here saying that.
"manhattan or brooklyn", yes.
Posted by Anonymous | June 11, 2008 1:52 PM
Yep I agree with a couple posts before.
Iggy on Friday, Radiohead on Saturday (APW), then Dylan on Sunday - BEST WEEKEND FOR MUSIC EVER.
Posted by Anonymous | June 11, 2008 1:53 PM
as long as iggy keeps the sucky new shit down to a min, I'll go see him.
Live Iggy is not too be missed!
Posted by Anonymous | June 11, 2008 1:54 PM
I cant picture someone who grew up in brooklyn, saying anything other than that they are from "brooklyn". if you are from brooklyn and tell people you are from "NYC", obviously you have issues of a sense of shame or something.
Posted by Anonymous | June 11, 2008 1:55 PM

I agree with you - although any debate on the subject is idiotic as fuck. Fuck poser NYC fucks.
Posted by Anonymous | June 11, 2008 1:56 PM
i'm from nyc, moved around for a while and now live in brooklyn. i intend to leave again, though, because you are all douche nozzles and i'd rather not be surrounded by and inundated by the shitty attitudes of aforementioned self indulgent sarcastic loserish douche nozzles.
as to iggy pop: sounds tempting, but would it be worth the money and will he abstain mostly from new material?
thank you.
Posted by Anonymous | June 11, 2008 2:48 PM
that is not necessarily true.
if someone asks me where i'm from i say brooklyn sometimes, i say nyc other times.
if i say nyc and somewhere asks me WHERE in nyc (or which borough, THEN i'll say brooklyn.
there's no "obvious shame" going on. you're just an idiot.

"10:46 what??!! I think you got it backwards. I live in New York is ok, but I would never say I live in "New York City" unless I actually lived in Manhattan, or "the city". If I live in Brooklyn or Queens and I say Im going to "the city""
It all depends where you are saying it from. If you are sitting in Brooklyn you wouldn't say to someone that you were in NYC. You'd say Brooklyn. If you were visiting in California or Montana or Maine and you lived in Brooklyn and someone asked you where you lived you could say New York City. If you lived in Brooklyn and were in Brooklyn when you said where you lived to someone rom Queens, you wouldn't say NYC, you'd say Brooklyn.
If you were in Brooklyn and you were referring to Manhattan you would say either Manhatan or simply "the City", but you would never say New York City...
People in Brooklyn have never refered to Manhattan as New York City. It is just Manhattan or the city.
refering in the same sentence to Brooklyn and New York City as two different places is just plain wrong anyway you slice it.

Idiotic semantic shit. Iggy rules.
Posted by simon | June 11, 2008 6:57 PM
moscow, eh? let's hope the ruskies detain iggy for being the white trash fuck that he is.
Posted by Anonymous | June 12, 2008 2:11 AM
are there any confirmed opening bands? not rumors, but confirmed?
Posted by Anonymous | June 12, 2008 3:26 PM
Are you guys serious? You fucking new yorkers are douche bags.
Posted by james | June 12, 2008 3:58 PM
I saw iggy uptown manhattan in washington heights last year at the united palace (pictured at the top). It was fucking awesome. he did lots of old shit and there were so many old punkers there. you could see real people from NYC and anywhere else. I was so stoked. the "sistas in the pit" opened up. i definately going to this one. I dont even care that its in terminal 5. This shit is gonna make whales moan.
ps. it makes me cry like an emo that you live in new york and cant accept people who come from abroad. this is the crossroads of the world. grow up!
Posted by Anonymous | June 12, 2008 7:17 PM
oh yeah and another thing.
go fuck yourself
Posted by Anonymous | June 12, 2008 7:18 PM
Any word on whether there's an opening act?
