The Bad Plus 1 featuring Kurt Rosenwinkel on Guitar tonight is going to be awesome. Maybe the first time they have ever had a guitarist sit in with them. Can't wait!

medeski was not a good show at prospect, definitely the worst show I've seen them at (maybe it was all the little kids running around).

i thought MMW was okay. Not there best show but still solid. I thought Marc Ribot, both sitting in with MMW and his band Ceramic Dog, really stole the show.

Bad Plus IS gonna rage tonight!

That Mos Def gig also sounds VERY interesting.

Ceramic Dog was fucking amazing.

Ceramic Dog was really good. Love the new album.

ribot will ALWAYS steal the show. he's a total badass whether he's playing his own work, zorn, ayler, waits, etc...

The Bad Plus are the worst. I can't think of more painful jazz to listen to. Terrible.

too many people at MMW/ none of them giving a shit made the show pretty lame. It felt like backyard of a frat party, rather than a concert with some of the most talented jazz/funk/avante-garde musicians of our time. Basically, when in the presence of the wise indian, shut the fuck up and listen to him

i thought MMW was fun. whatever.

tonight's line up is looking good:

Turntables & Samples meet Jazz
DJ LOGIC PROJECT
MARCO BENEVENTO TRIO
MOCEAN WORKER
Le Poisson Rouge 8:00pm

I was enthusiastic to see MMW, but I had no idea that they attracted that same contingent of people who frequent Sting Cheese Incident performances or any other excruciating jam band. There were frat boys aplenty with thick necks and light acne and many many pairs of cargo shorts.

Marc Robot was excellent. I think he managed to confuse a majority of the attendees.

MMW was fun. Would you guys freaking relax. And the Bad Plus is FAR from "excruciating"...
