Lightspeed Champion played Union Hall & Maxwell's

next up Conan and Bowery

Lightspeed Champion

Lightspeed Champion finished up two of his three NYC-area shows - both on Thursday (June 5, 2008). First was Union Hall in the afternoon.

Lightspeed Champion was awesome, TMOT was ok. This show needed to be really late at night. [Pedro]
Then came Maxwell's in the evening. The latter is where Brian Woodward took the pretty pictures in this post. The top one illustrates the fact that Keith Murray of We Are Scientists (who have their own shows coming up) was in attendance.

Lightspeed's next show is Friday on Conan O'Brien. Lightspeed's next full show is Saturday night at Bowery Ballroom (tix). One more picture from Maxwell's below..

man i can't understand all the hype. the guy can't sing at all. his record sounds like bright eyes being fronted by michael clarke duncan trying to sound like dashboard confessional but stuck underwater. could someone explain all the love?

I think you're trying too hard. If you like the Dears, you'll like Lightspeed Champion.

I had a conversation with Dev for about a half hour before he went on. He's a wonderful guy, a great musician, and a pleasure to be around. The best album I've heard in a long time, and one of the best concerts I've been to in a very long time. Looking forward to seeing more of him in the future!
